To most of Scoobynet anything involving a hatch - let alone a WRX one - is a joke...

Involving a DV is just troll!

No it wasn't a joke.

I had a moment before I posted it thinking that it would be a good idea to get one, but in hindsight and from memory I had issues with the last one I had fitted to a GT4.

so in conclusion sanity has prevailed, no I'm not a troll

had a moment of childish want

I've got one fitted to my hatch, something called a GFB Respons. It has a stronger spring than the OEM item and my car feels better for it. I originally bought it as a piece of engine bay bling.

The OEM item is quite a cheap piece of kit but does its job very well, if you wish to replace it with aftermarket then make sure you go for something high quality that might improve on the original item. A lot of people recommend the Forge item.

Will just leave the one I got in, I don't plan on modifying the engine and happy enough with just a filter, exhaust and a map on it at the moment.

I don't drive it hard and it's a daily car so not planning on doing anything to get more power.

I saw forge recirc valves for sale but I have no issues with boost so stock is fine.

Just a moment of madness as a WR1 at my work passed me earlier with one on

I have just swapped my forge recirc back to the standard one, I found it wasn't performing well with my current turbo/map, even with the stiffest spring installed it was creeping open under heavy load, but it was fine with the standard WRX's turbo not overly loud just right. Might give that GFB one a try.

Recirc valves don't make any noise right?

They definitely make more noise than the standard one, but not as much as vent to atmosphere.
