Default Are strut braces worth it?

Is it worth getting strut braces on a 05 wrx?

I wondered the same but after a fair bit of reading on here i didnt bother but will be going for a whiteline rear arb if anything as that seems to be the best way to cure the understeer that can be found

See what the others reckon ,,, not had mine long so i could be wrong ,,, strut braces can be had for like £60 a pair and it would be nice if they cured the understeer at that money but ive only heard one guy say they would

Strut braces will stiffen the shell and may alter the handling slightly, but understeer needs to be dialled out with thicker arbs.

It all helps to varying degrees. Think of the chassis in respect of the struts as a box ARB, Uprated Suspension and Strut braces

I was told at Chevron that front strut = worth it, rear strut = waste of time.

For how cheap they are, it's hard to find a reason not to fit a front one. I fitted my front one along with loads of other changes, so can't put my finger on any improvement as the car was transformed anyway!

I just had a 22mm rear ARB and ally droplinks fitted last friday and the understeer has vanished and been replaced with tiny amount of oversteer when push hard.

now I just have to see if the same is true in the wet...

Oh and its an 05 WRX with Milltek cat back. Other than that it's stock

If you're going to do a rear brace it has to be done properly to get some tangible benefit, like so

Worth it but think of it as part of a package - won't do much on its own but works in conjunction with other handling mods.

Obviously the more you spend on one then the more (in your head) you will convince yourself you can feel the difference!

Any suspension mod may not make a huge difference but surely every part should add something toward overall improvement.
