keep looking at legacy's for extra room than my wrx wagon

whats the score with tuning them - are there big increases to be made being twin turbo's?

i've heard about the valley of death with the lag but read a re-map can sort that out.

can the standard ecu be mapped (1997 car i've been looking at) or will it need an apexi with fc commander or similar like my old classics?
