My car had it's oil last changed 2000 miles ago (previous owner) and had Mobil 1 10w60. I checked last night and it could do with a little topping up - 10w60 was used as recommended by the subaru specialist who changed the oil. Apparently this was due to the mods on the car and it having a remap..

Since having it, I've taken a look and the car (06 STi) is running a standard map, and just has a panel filter and backbox, there is some documentation to support cosworth gaskets, rcm low temp thermostat and a few other goodies etc but nothing I can see justifying the need for that oil. Could someone shed some light on this, or what oil is recommended?
