Also ive heard horror stories of the hawkeye but do these problems arise when the car is being hammered on a daily basis?

Seems to be pot luck if the engine goes pop in the hawk, some have done over 100, 000 with no problem, some don't make it over 30,000. Driving style doesn't seem to make any difference.
Also the hawk is in a higher tax band, you'll be looking at around £500 a year.

Cheaper with best offer & 20k miles less although it does need the stickers removing but it has Brembos!

If your lucky you can find a early hawkeye that's the cheaper tax band but unless you've had a blob already then there's no point getting a hawk. You wil probably end up having concerns about the engine and there's nothing wrong with a blob wrx.

I would really want a decent warranty included for that price. Also check that there is no leakage in the boot, very common when fitting an aftermarket STi spoiler. Also looks like a bit of rust on the wheel arch in one of the pictures.
There are plenty decent cars out there for £5k, another thing to remember, a standard WRX isn't exactly blisteringly fast.
