Default Hatch STI cold air intake help.

Hi people. I have a standard 2008 hatch STI and have just purchased a Perrin cold air intake. Can I fit it and run it without any setup etc for now? Or will this cause problems for me, the car? Many thanks for any advice. Rob

A re-map would be wise. The 2008 STI can be prone to certain issues so best to be set up correctly.

Remap it. You'll most likely get an engine light on if you fit without a map, think about how the engine is finely tuned to expect a certain amount of air in, and your new kit is going to completely change all that.

I would recommend a high flow exhaust at the same time when you remap for maximum gain too.

Thanks mate. Hopefully going to buy a miltek sport in a few weeks. Think I might just keep all the parts till I can afford the remap, sounds like the best option!
