Default Buying a used exhaust...

Guys, sorting a deal on a used Blitz Nur Spec R to fit on a 2005 STI PPP. What else, if anything, do I need to buy?

I see on Scoobyworld theres some sort of fitting kit sold separately which seems to include gaskets and bolts etc.

Or do I just give the car and the exhaust to my local mechanic and he does the rest?

Bonus question: If I go decat, do I need to buy a decat pipe, if so where from and how much?

Sorry for the n00b questions

Blitz Nur Spec comes with a decat centre pipe and the backbox part of the exhaust system!! which then leaves 1 cat left which would be in your downpipe unless you had already got a decat downpipe!!

The PPP has no centre cat anyway, it is replaced with a PPP pipe and the standard heat shields re-attached to it,. most after market exhaust systems would bolt to the back of the PPP de-cat pipe anyway (or the cat on a standard STI/WRX)

To the OP.

If you decat it you will also need a re-map.

I would buy new gaskets, if your feeling flush then spring for some bolts too. It's an easy enough job if you have a couple of 17mm spanners and the will to get under the car

Sorry to jump in here, I went from a Miltek cat back to a second hand Blitz Nur Spec and my engine management light has come on. From reading this I've now discovered it has a decat which would explain the light? and also would require a re-map then?

Thats my understanding Matt yes. Question to you; how does she run with decat and no remap, is it something safe to do for a week or two between installing decat and waiting for a remap?

Well I've run like this for about 4 months and I haven't noticed anything different at all, runs fine, same amount of miles to a tank etc.

How much would a remap cost?
