Hey guys, Iv got a 2003 impreza wrx, totally standard part from cat back exhaust. If I fit a k&n induction kit will engine need a remap?

there wouldn't be any gains over the standard intake.
My blob wouldn't idle and kept cutting out when I changed mine also the car could run lean top end, so safest to get the map checked.

Iv had it on for a couple of years and it ran fine. I'm avin a few other issues with car (timing could be out) I'm getting that done, but Iv also been told that the induction kit wouldn't be helping unless it had a remap.

Now you've started it!

The general consensus is:

Standard air box with a better filter up to 350-400bhp

Induction kit after 400bhp

However, they look cool and sound good too, so I will probably get one anyway (I have a standard Hawk WRX), but never without a remap.

A induction kit won't require a remap

It will need a remap, the ECU is not capable of compensating for the additional airflow that the induction kit will allow and the car will run lean
