Does anyone know where you can get an ARC style reverse scoop in the UK/Europe? Looking at getting one but the import/shipping from the states in stupid!

Quite a big debate over the pond on this type of reverse as it also has a forward cold air vent .... Not 2 sure myself on the looks dep

Yeah I think so and Rawrcarbon (I think) but the $500 one was a real ARC one though private sale which I thought was a bit much lol. My plan is to run ducting and using CFD software work out the best way to cool the turbo (guess what I did at uni lol).
I like the 'different' look. As far as I can find there has only ever been one sold in the UK and It went back to the states :-(...

No Ben at Carben Fibre Creations was looking at making a batch of them but there just wasn't enough interest. Spoke via email yesterday top bloke even tried to point me in the right direction to get one.

I'm even trying to find one though a couple of US 'Subie' forums lol

I'm not sure that scoop works well at all.

I think it ends up too close to the high pressure zone close to the wind screen to be effective.

I'd need some solid before/after temperature data before running one personally.

I'm currently not running an undertray so the low pressure in the transmission tunnel will draw air though the forward facing RH scoop and cool the turbo (thats the idea anyways). Ran it though a CFD simulation (solid works) the other month, and it 'works' really well. Got raisers at the mo which are dealing with my heat soak issues but need more cooling to the rear RH of the engine bay.

I've been playing a little with open cfd, but it's a huge pain to use (I just about manage to run the open box simulations )

Is the solid works solver easier to use?

By easy to use, I mean can I just use a dwg (or whatever the solid works equivalent is), set some wind speed parameters and off I go, or is it still as complicated as compiling solvers, converting drawings to text format, viewing results in different viewers etc?

I use both Pro E and Solidworks for CFD (built in packages) and Solidworks is good for basic visual representation etc whereas Pro E is good to elaborate but takes a little longer to compile etc. Both you can use the drawings and insert directly etc. The joys of cracked software ;-)

I have contacted a manufacturer in the states, who it looks like have them (fingers crossed because this is the only one I could find). Failing this I will probably make one myself out of fibreglass, what's the worst that can happen lol. If they can send them to the UK I will get mine and then promote them etc, getting quite a bit of interest in them now tbh.

Well , the only suggestion I can conclude is they must not be very good ( be it ) quality wise or product testing .
If you can't find 1 in the good ol USA then they certainly didnt catch on & sell well ...

Cheers mate, they are really popular in the US but never come up for sale MattyBR had one for sale a while back but he sold it for £40 back to the US. I am kicking myself for not buying it...

Any other ideas?

Are ARC still trading? I heard a rumour that they have seised, and I cant find there main website etc?
They were only really popular in the states but are like rocking horse poo to get hold of second hand.

I would say,for shipping you shouldn't pay more than $100,import charges,really depends on the company,but usually companies are OK with declaring the lower value than actually is it,please speak with Importracing

Morning Jura,

I originally ordered one though IIR (Joshua) but it seems that Rawr Parts have gone out of business. Long story short I payed Import Image Racing and they placed the order with Rawr Parts but it never arrived. IIR have been brilliant tho and offered me a full refund etc.

The only other company that I managed to find was rally sport and they cant source any.
