Scooby gone.......

They collected my Scooby today (part-ex) (my Golf 150PD arrives August)
Mixed feelings as I saw it being driven off - sadness as I know I'm going to miss it, but relief to that I don't have to foot the bills any more.
Oh well, it's just a bit of tin (yeah right)!
Cheers
Tim

Can I place a bet on 6months of golf owner ship and you'll be back at the Subaru dealers?
Seriously goodluck with the new car and I hope you can put up with it.. at least you had a scooby..

You must be insane young man. You will regret the change for the rest of your life. Golf TDI PD 150 Turbo nutter floppy handler are not a very nice car to own. I drove my nephews. Not a nice experience.......Blutes

Oh, and how do you work that out young man ? The Golf is only a better car to own if you don't take pride in what car you drive, want 75 mpg and wish to own one of the most boring bland looking cars (except the Passat) on the road. Whats pleasurable about that ? You pays yer money....etc. Personally if you are having to watch where the pennies are going I would have opted for a Seat Leon TDI or a Skoda Fabia TDI. Cheaper to buy etc......Blutes

Oh dear another Scooby = best car in world ever thread
PS You forgot to mention:
1. Running costs, not just MPG.
2. Build quality (yes, new WRX's are better, but there not up to German standards).
3. Image (Impreza's image is going downhill fast IMHO).
4. Comfort.
5. Customer service.
As I said, a better car to own. I'm not disputing that the Impreza is BY FAR the better car to drive, but now it is too compromised, IMHO, in all the areas listed above, which have become more important to ME.
May be I'll come back to the brand when:
1. Subaru have a proper engine management system that gives >30mpg on a cruise(aren't Saab and FHI now both owned by GM ?).
2. IM's UK dealers have had a really hard few years and realise that that they actually have to do something for their customers, now that the 'halo' effect from WRC domination in the mid-90's has worn off.
3. I win the Lotto and/or retire to somewhere in the country.
Just a little bit of perspective......
BTW As regards watching the pennies, rest-assured the savings will be spent on more, but different, toys.......

NBW,
Agree with you 100%. They are exactly the reasons I got rid of mine 4 months ago (and there is no chance I will ever get another).
Following a tatty L reg WRX import in new malden last week with tinted windows, different alloys and a huge exhaust I knew I had made the correct decision.
I have never driven a new age impreza so they might be 1000 times better but once I had got over the performance of my MY00 Impreza I couldn't believe how poorly built it was for a 20K car.
Bluto22b, just out of interest do you actually own an Impreza or do you own a Vauxhall Corsa and believe that the Subaru Impreza Turbo is the best car in the world??

JoeyDeacon, I own a Forester S Turbo AND a tuned Austin Maxi (bored out 1750cc to 1898cc). I HAVE driven an Impreza and whilst I am a little old for that kind of performance (though the Forester comes close) I respect a good car when I drive one. I suggest all you Scooby traitors move off this bbs onto the VW/Audi/BMW where you maybe welcomed with open arms...No offence chaps...Blutes
