Take every wheel off and give hub, brakes, arch and wheel a good clean. Stopped my knocking problem. May just be a stone lodged in brake.
failing that, might be mechanical

No def engine related mate it's there on tick over and just gets louder and fast when I take rpm up but not there in 5th when driving

If you think it's engine related. Start by checking your levels. To make sure. Have you changed your spark plugs recently? If these arnt tightened correctly they will rattle loose and start to make a horrible knocking.

Failing that I would check to ensure its not big ends knocking. You can check this by dropping the oil through a Cloth and seeing if you get any metal swarf.

Thanks for the replies it was big ends but had a full rebuild now so it all ran in and back on the road with sti internal 😃 was looking to see if there are any meets in the Durham newcastle area that I would be welcome to come along sometime
