High fluctuating idle code:po519?-help needed as want to get home!
Hi guys,
Having driven from Essex to Berkshire, on arrival at the hotel, as I slowed to turn in the engine rev'd up to 2,500 unexpectedly and then continued idling high and then dropping.
Green flag have been out and given the above error code and said its the idle air control system. Couple of things I need help with:
1) can I limp the car back to Essex (60 miles), my understanding is that it will only overfuel
2) does anyone know/recommend someone in East London/Essex that can fix this before next weekend when I have to drive to Wales?
3) is it just the throttle housing/system that needs replacing and how much should it cost?
Thanks in advance guys.
Chris

You need a new gasket BEFORE you take the IACV off as you will probably not be able to reuse the old gasket as it will have expanded.
I messed on with my newage IACV for ages cleaning it thoroughly etc, in the end I bought a used one for £40 delivered from Matty on here and it cured it straight away.
