Hello all

For Christmas the wife bought me a Ariel track experience.

I have a choice of venue which is what I'm hoping you guys can help me out on.

I'm wanting a track that gives me a good driving experience where I can actually drive it rather than flat out long straights etc, but I would like to see what it can do so I'm looking for a happy medium.

The tracks I have available to me are as follows

Three sisters - Lancashire
Donington - Derbyshire
Rockingham - Northampton
Oulton park - Cheshire
Brands Hatch - Kent

Travelling don't bother me so happy to go to any of the venues but I have no experience with any of them or the layouts etc.

I've done some looking about but I know there are a few of you on here who have experienced most of these venues through sprint series, shows etc

So any tips or pointers would be welcome, I'm wanting the all round best experience that Ariel can offer

Thanks guys

Craig

Donington would be great in an Atom - and not so bad from Cardiff either - but all will be good in some thing like an atom.

I drove a 3.5 one at the Long cross test circuit last year and it made the lambos/ ferarris/ 911 turbos there look pedestrian

I'm looking forward to it as I get to drive around in big fast cars regularly but it's not going to compare to something like that. She told me she had a choice of cars to pick from but because I get to use some proper toys on a regular basis she wanted it to be different, she knows me so well

It was a complete revelation - at a stroke it made all those super cars feel like fat slow barges : I drove a Gallardo, a 997 turbo and a vantage convertible before getting into the Ariel.

It's a weapon.

Enjoy- very jealous

I drove an atom at Bruntingthorpe, same as you it was a xmas prezzie from the missus. The acceleration on the straights was mind blowing, as said before it leaves lambos and astons standing. I doubt you'll be in the car long enough to master it on a twisty circuit, but I have no doubt you'll have a ball For future reference check the voucher sites for big discounts on experience days

So Donington and Oulton and both in an Atom.

I'm starting to get excited now I love ***** out speed and I've been in a few cars mentioned above and driven a few porker turbos, one which was 700hp so if it's on par with that I'm in for a treat

Anyone else with any contributions or recommendations

Cheers for the input so far guys it's appreciated!

Power to weight ratio is probably still in excess of the Porker, but it's the lack of weight/ inertia under braking and cornering that is probably more impressive.

Thanks for the input guys

So I'm guessing Donny is a decent track and will give me some enjoyment

It's hard to choose when you've never experienced them yourself I suppose and watching in car videos only does so much tbf.

Plus as said Donny isn't that far really but I've no issues on travelling anywhere.

Donny is my local track 30mins away, done quite a few track days there, I quite like it but Cadwell is my favourite as it's a little more testing especially on a bike, it's a bit more of a trek to get to but well worth it. I'd imagine it would be a real hoot in an Atom.

Donny or oulton are both great tracks....I'd probably plump for donington. Flat out down Craner curves if you dare.....:-0

I had the atom experience at donny, seriously good fun! Only downside was doing the whole course in 5th, but we still made the bigger cars look silly under braking and through the corners. Problem is I want to do it again 😆
