Default GB270 cats

Right then, I've just been speaking to one of the mechanics at my local dealer about sports cats. He seemed fairly adamant that the GB270 gets a sports cat as part of the PPP upgrade but I was always led to believe it isn't.

So does it or doesn't it have a sports cat?

The PPP for the WRX consists of a second cat delete only and a Prodrive backbox.

Only the PPP for the 2.0 STi has a downpipe with a sports cat.

Best would be to source a downpipe from a 2.0 STi and get the car mapped if you are after more bhp/torque.

Just for future reference, I've just found this site which has links to the prodrive brochures for the various versions of the PPP.

As you say, the 2.0l PPP came with the high flow cat. So is it a direct fit?

It should be a direct fit, yes.
On Foresters though you have to dent slighly the bellmouth otherwise when taking left hand corners hard the downpipe will touch the steering knuckle.
I don't know if this problem exists in Imprezas. It is easily rectifiable though.

I had a 08 GB270 wagon, it didn't have a sport cat, I fitted a cobra 200 cell ( nearly went for the 100 but glad I didn't as it only scraped by on emissions ) bespoke 3" centre and kept the prodrive back box.

I sold the car 2 years ago, I just found the original downpipe and centre in my shed, if anyone is interested, had only done 17k.
