Default V7 JDM Sti or 2.5 RB5 - advice

Hey guys. Just this morning I placed a deposit on this JDM Sti -

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...xperiment=true

I fell in love with its subtle styling and immaculate condition. However the same dealer also has a very nice sounding RB5 for sale that has a 2.5 conversion.

I think I prefer the newer car.. opinions?
Oh and the ad says the Sti has a twin scroll - incorrect yes?

To answer your question re the JDM, no its not a twin scroll, those were the MY03 blob eye models onwards, the 2001/2002 will be single scroll units like the UK cars.
Its also had a rear end converstion to the later blob eye model.

The RB5 has a lot of conflicting information, said it has a 2011 STI gearbox but states its still a still a 5 speed, but as the new age ones are 6 speed.... would be a long drive down to pick up a car that isnt correct.
Either their ad is very wrong or they dont really know what they are talking about.

Tony

I had spotted that too.. Im guessing they don't really know what they're talking about. The Sti seems a bit more black and white. I'll be down on Saturday so will have a look at both (and the others they have in too)

Love that rb5 , for me I think I'd go for that over the bug , like above , I'd drive both , go through the paperwork etc , have a good look round and decide what works out best for you

I love classics but the bug gets my vote out of those two.
