Richard,

We can guess what you are up to :-))

Found a few on Autotrader, seems you are looking between 6 and 9k.

Cheers

Ian

Cool

Hi Ian

No it's not to put the engine into the 22b

Actually I friend and I are looking for a vehicle to do next years Targa Tasmania.

Believe it or not neither the RS200 or the 22B are eligible but a SVX is

So we were thinking of a really cheap SVX, gut it and fit rollcage etc result = Instant Luxury Rallycar (tm)

Re Steve's post, one of the car mags prints unusual sales/first registrations from time to time and I seem to remember there was one or two new SVX's registered over the last year or two.

Believe it or not it is still listed in Glass's Guide, first cars were introduced to the UK in May 92 and currently trades at £6,975. Official sales ended around the end of 96.

How about one direct from Japan? There must be more there than here.

Rich,

You can get them for between 4 and 6K here. They have the 6 cylinder motor, and IMHO look funky! ( But then I do drive a diesel!)

Thumbs up

Richard,

I think the earliest SVX you will find would be A 92/Jregistered car.
Brand new £33,000 :O,dealers had to have one on demo and one in the showroom hence the lack of sales.
You will probably find that most have covered starship mileage and the good cars are kept wrapped in cotton wool by their owners.
Good points: probably the smoothest engine I have ever experienced(flame suit on)
Bad points: chocolate gearbox

Try to find a car if you are serious about it with a Subaru exchange gearbox fitted/or proof of a new one under warranty.

I do believe there were a few cars still kicking around unregistered at the end of 99/00 so you might even find a really late one if you are lucky

Regards

Steve
