Noise Regulations Question
I've just notice that the noise level for no pro class entries is 103db.
My car has a Revolution downpipe and Nur Spec R fitted. Thats never going to pass without the bung in, is it?

It also says it is measured at 1m from the exhaust tailpipe. Is this correct?? The MSA guidelines state 0.5m from the tailpipe.....
Just checking as it will make a difference

erm, this is a static test not a drive by at WOT they tested in the middle of the handling circuit last year as to avoid any surrounding noise interfering, mine was around 90 if i remember correctly and that's not exactly quiet, have a look at this exhaust test a mag did, gives dbs for idle etc. Toyota Celica Exhaust Test - Tech Review - Turbo Magazine going to be slightly different for an Impreza but should give a ballpark

it should read 0.5m @ 45 degrees to be fair, will ask Shaun to ammend, and yes it is a static test.
Anyone unsure of their cars noise limit can have a FREE noise test at Elvington rwyb with Straightliners on 11th March (this is a 1/4m rwyb day if you wish to practise, cost £45 approx on day, open to anyone).
