My blob wrx/sti progess thread
Well after months of searching and waiting i finally purchased myself an Impreza. Still on the fence on what to think of the car at the mo, coming from the opposition of owning an Evo , but im sure over time it will grow on me
Heres a few pics of the car as it stands at the mo (sorry about quality), havent got round to cleaning it yet since i bought it last Sunday, but will be giving it a good going over tomorrow, and polish and wax it aswell
Quick spec list of the car:
-STI8 short block
-Cosworth 1.6mm headgaskets
-Andy Forrest 18G turbocharger
-Japspeed frount mount intercooler
-Ninja 100 cell sports cat downpipe
-Decat centre pipe
-Prodrive back box (gives a great sound but not intrusive)
-Harvey oem ported headers dei heatwraped
-Harvey ported trick up pipe dei heatwraped
-Exedy pink box clutch
-Remap by JGM at 358bhp & 345lb/ft @ 1.4bar
-K sport 8pot front calipers with 330MM two piece discs
Have a small list of jobs to get me started with:
-Give car a good clean inside and out
-Remove spray tint from rear lights
-Reseal front lights as seem to be suffering with condensation
-Find out why boost gauge isn't currently working
-Source new bonnet and drivers wing, (not keen on aerocatches, and both have a few dings)
-Get STi winglets
-New drivers side fog light cover to replace cold air feed
-Remove the WRX badge from the boot
-Get car booked in for a service oil/filter, gearbox/diff oils, coolant flush and new fuel filter
Already purchased my first mod aswell which is a late blob/hawkeye heater control and centre console conversion

im sure I will I maybe tempted to downgrade on the turbo at somepoint, unsure if its a tad laggy due to the fmic or just how the turbo's are, would prefer something with a slightly quicker spool, and something that will keep the gearbox in one piece lol

Small update, finally got round to give it a quick clean, and then went out with a mate and got a few snaps of it.
Havent been able to sort out boost gauge yet, seems as if one of the pins has abit of corrosion on the sensor, filed it down, and bit of wd40 but still no luck, gauge just flashes as if there is no sensor present so im assuming sensor has died
Cars booked into scoobyworld next Monday, to have some BC BR coilovers fitted, with rear extended adjusters and camber bolts
and then booked into Chevron Motorsport Tuesday for the service, so its going to be an expensive start to the following week.
Anyway heres a few of the snaps my mate got of the car after giving it a clean.

hi dj, main reason for selling was to put some of the cash a side, currently saving up to finally move out and get my own place and the scoob was almost half of what I sold the evo for.
Also I would like to note, that I never realised you had sent me that message on MLR, for some reason the way there system is setup I don't receive notifications for when someone leaves a visitor message on my profile, which I rarely view my own profile page, so just want you to know I didn't ignore you or anything

hi, no probs mate. ne mind the scoob will make a nice car and will prob be cheaper to run. i ended up with a e90 in the end ha ha, i went for economy and comfort. still got the scoob though and do sometimes regret not going for the evo, but i had to grow up a bit as i have a little one to pay for now.

as said above, I think ill always regret selling the evo, had some big plans for it, involving a 2.2 steel crank forged stroker kit, had about 90% of the parts just needed turbo and injectors before I was on my way to having silly bhp and loads of low down grunt, but im sure they scoob will grow on me, especially when I get cracking on with the plans I have for it, although wont be as exciting as the plans I had for the evo, mainly be tidying the car up maybe a colour change aswell

Another update, trip out to scoobyworld, to take advantage on there free fitting on coilcovers. Went for the BC BR's with extended rear adjusters, camber bolts, and fast road geo setup.
Also received a nice parcel, that contained the newer centre console and heater controls, just need to source a handbrake now so I can get it fitted. Think ill be doing the heater surround matt black, as will go with the rest of my plans for the interior.
Car also booked into Chevron tomorrow for a full service, for all the oils and coolant to be changed. Have a few more goodies hoping to turn up soon in the post been and expensive week lol

another update, few goodies have arrived Cars back from its "2 day service" aswell, found a small water leak on turbo banjo bolt, which will be getting sorted soon.
Also Received some goodies, some flat blade wipers, some JDM folding mirrors, JDM HID headlights and an STi front bumper which would benefit from a respray as few scuffs and chips in the paint just glad it arrived undamaged
Will probably take the new headlights apart soon to blacken the inserts

thanks guys, haven't got round to doing the centre console upgrade yet, still waiting on the handbrake lever, but purchased both from members on here. Will most likely be doing it matt or satin black, and looking into doing a red LED mod to the heater controls, as will go will my gauges and sweep dials
