Get a same year legacy 2.5 quad or sohc engine, drop it In, swap the Ecus (make sure leggy ecu is a manual one) job done!
How ever I would swap gearbox and rear diff to a low ratio 4.44 box and 4.44 rear diff,
Place a hydraulic clutch in there and take every last bit of weight u can out!
What u loose in power you can gain a bit on weight and gear ratios! ESP going down whites and triangles!

Thanks.. Is there much difference between the dohc an sohc cam?
Iv already got hydric clutch swapped my box an rear diff with a smashec up turbo 2000 i bought
Got 4pots aswell but cant find 15" wheels to go over them..
Turbo 2000 gear ratios are crap
The impreza is by far the best car down the whites.. I want a 2.5 for that extra bit of power

Get an ra box, or if u can afford one a type r dccd box 4.444 so you can control the center diff,
You need speedline corse or compomotives 15s they will clear 4 pots!
Also change rears to twin pots
Sohc and dohc not much reg power however the dohc does suffer from head gaskets going, but seem to be more about so pros and cons
To be fair you can pick up a complete legacy for £500 or less which will give u all you need just make sure it's manual or you will be going down the route of standalone ecu like kms, dta etc then changing trigger wheels on the crank etc

Someone told me id have to run a dohc because of the age of the car
Manual sohc on management what sort of horsepower would that make?
Do you know of any posh exhaust systems.. Or do you have any tips/mods that would help me
