Default At last the start of my race car project 2

It been a long time coming and collecting parts now my garage is full so I thought I would start the process of building what I always wanted a type R race/show car I have a feeling it might take some time as I don't have the skills that some on here have.
So this is some pice of the progress on day 1
This was it on its journey home.

This is it after the first day found some surprises but not to bad

I borrowed these from the project and put them on my 4 door track car should stop a bit better

Looking forward to Saturday for more progress

Number 2, wow brave! I'm on number 1 and it's taking a lot of time, it doesn't help when i want it done quickly too.

What was your first, a track car?

Thanks

Well I was going to sell my first car but I if I did I would rush this one so I though I'd keep it so I have a track car while I'm building this one then there's no rush and hopefully get it right fist time unlike the fist car I changed my mine and done things wrong

At the moment I have a 20L CDB
Closed deck block
Rear Thrust conversion
Spec C Black Nitrated Crankshaft
Cosworth pistons
Eagle H beam rods
Eagle rod bolts
ACL race bearings
Built by engine tuner

Heavily ported V4 built heads, 276 cams £700
Upgrading to AVCS heads hence these are up for sale, heavily ported V4 sti heads, JUN retainers and titanium retainers, 3 angle valve seats, Piper 276 cams, piper oversize shims
All bing but together now also 6speed box will soon be picked up not sur of turbo yet but gt30 or gt35 I'm sure I can get some advice on here as to what's best.

Although I might put this engine in my 4 door track car for the time being as I have a 2.2CDB so there might be a 2.35 on the cards

Looks good,spec wise is OK,but still I wouldn't use Eagle H-Beam rods with GT30/GT35
Have look on the 22b on thread about the Eagle rods and too on some US forums

2.35L is way to go which we are going for sure with Kelford V2-199-C

Hi Jura the rods came with the engine ! I also thinking of using this engine in the 4 door if I do I might use a md or an s202 and go for less HP around 500-550.Neil has a 2.2 block of mine at his garage it's all depends on cash flow at the moment I still have a lot to do before I even think of putting in the engine

Hi there

If they come with the engine is different story,MD,SC or S202 will be good choice for 2.1,we are run MDX321T which has been great turbo on the 2.1 with AVCS.

2.35L in the 2 door classic will be awesome, must admit we are thinking about this too

You will see how you get on and good luck with project there, will worth in the in both cases.500bhp in classic will be awesome to drive like on track or road

Looking good John, just be sure you will be running Syvecs or any other ECU which have CANbus,if you are need files for Dash2,I've our one custom CAN files like for Syvecs and for Dash2

Without the CANbus can be pain wire every sensor to Dash etc. and I would speak with Neil@Slowboy racing about the best way to do so

Hi John

Really as I said, you will need ECU which support CANbus get best from Dash2,without the CANbus you will need wire every sensor such as if you are want oil temp, oil pressure, boost etc.

With CANbus is easy, because you can stream all those packets of data from Syvecs or any other ECU which support CANus and which is supported by RT Dash2 without the problems

Although you will need wire lights, battery etc to Dash2 which will be much easier than wire every one sensor, plus you will need wire the fuel gauge, speed sensor(although from ECU you will receive data of the speed, but yours trip, mileage will not work, because Dash2 using for this their own or any other cheaper Hall Effect speed sensor)
