Thumbs up Winston's makeover by Prodriverules

Well after much deliberation I plucked up the courage to get the car properly sorted out, and no one better than Ryan @ C+K motors to sort it out

It's suffering with rust on the rear drivers side arch and various niggles all over, I'm quite fussy

Going for a full respray, with a small twist and having various mechanical work completed whilst it's in. VF35, KS3, oil change, coolant flush, new windscreen, tints, brakes bled and probably a few things I'm forgetting right now, but the thread will be updated as things progress

Here's some pictures of it at it's best a month or two before I opted to get the work carried out

Managed to track one down through a sale that fell through on eBay. He was fairly local to me so I turned up at his house and snapped it up!

So we started to strip the car today with removal of the complete front including wings.
Then onto the doors with removal of the door cards/window glass/top runner and door handles.
Finally we removed the sill covers and rear bumper/lights in preparation for sorting all the defects around the car.
The doors will be removed once we have sorted the defects in prep for primer paint.

Great start, now you'll spend the next few weeks wishing you hadn't as you drive some shed around and then when it's finished you'll be over the moon with it

So we got on with preping the shell for a high build primer run, there was a couple of dents to sort out in the N/S doors along with some dents along the tops of the quarter panels and also the O/S arch needed a bit of tlc with cutting/welding due to some rust which to be fair wasn't to bad at all and the N/S arch was completely free of rust so a very good shell as the classic's go.

Then it was time to roll her in the booth for the etch on the bare metal area's and high build primer for getting the final shaping blocked with.

The primed area's then received a guide coat ready for sanding which is the stage she is at now.

With the spoiler removed the boot lid will not stay down so we removed it along with the striker right before primer and strapped the lid down
I don't like trusting the inside puller with the cancel option you can end up locked out going through the rear seats!
