Default DIY budget type RA

Hi guys just thought i would share a little project me and a mate have just started we have bought a L reg classic ra and are looking to turn it into a stripped out track car for occasionaly road use. it might not look that pretty but will be built with performance i mind

We both own bugeye wrxs already so we are looking to do this car on a very very very limited budget! and all of it DIY.

We bought the car last week at a bargain price minus the engine which went bang on the previous owner when the water pump seized taking out the timing belt.

Cars spec as we got it:

[*
  • ]Type RA shell in white with facelift head lights bonnet and grill
  • Uprated gearbox straight cut gears and stronger casing, matching diff
  • td05 16 g turbo
  • 440 injecters and aditianol 5th injector in manifold
  • roger clark unequal length headers
  • 3" bell mouth down pipe and fujibitsu exhuast system
  • large front mount intercooler
  • light weight crank and alternator pulleys
  • ap racing clutch and light weight fly wheel
  • walbro fuel pump
  • esl ecu mapped by zen performance 330/330 at 1.4 bar of boost
  • 18x8 revolution milleniums with yoko prada rubber
  • 22mm and 24mm front and rear whiteline anti roll bars the rear is adjustable
  • front and rear cusco strut braces
  • cusco h brace
  • cusco brake master cylinder stopper
  • damper adjustable shocks front and rear
  • 4 pot front and 2 pot rear brakes with yellow stuff pads
  • white line anti lift kit
  • polybush hard bushes all round
  • and all the other ra spec such as light weight panels no ac etc etc

ive probably forgoten a few things but you get the general idea

jobs to do are:

give the car a good clean and polish as its looking a bit sorry for itself
build a roll cage
strip the interior
get some bucket seats harnersses etc
a bit of painting tidying up etc and alot of flocking
and the big one build the engine!!

will update when we get the ball rolling and as often as possible some times progress might be slow as like i said its all going to be DIY and on a budget pics to come later

hope you all like the outcome!

anyone know much about esl ecus is it possible to map switchable anti lag on them

I wanted to buy this very car myself last week, and missed out on it.

It was an absolute bargain, and good luck with the build.
