An incite to Project Nr 2 :)
THIS IS NOT the new P2 thread but an incite to the current situation.
It has taken a lot longer than I initially thought due to several issues. The word got around about P2 and there were several options I had including three well known rockets namely the RCM Team Ice car, Zen's race car & Andy F's. All three fine examples were seriously considered and after much thought I opted for something different.
The first project thread on the RCM built P1 gave an incite into the ins & outs of having a very fast road car built by what I believe is the best tuning company out there. The finished article is just something else to drive and at high speed is truly awesome.
Having 120,000 hits over 123 pages proves it was a subject that generated much interest so the P2 thread should be interesting to many guys due to the following:-
P2 has a budget unlike the P1 build, and should prove a lot more realistic to many readers. The budget for the whole car will be 25K - 30K.
The 2.2 engine will be built new, and from scratch by an independent in his garage. It's going to be well documented including many photos throughout.
The finished engine will be knocking out between 600 & 650 Bhp.
I have bought a STi 4 RHD lightweight 2 door Type R shell that is being collected next week. This will be taken to SPR Coachworks where it will be converted to a wide arch body together with all other works involved.
At the same time the engine will be built elsewhere. We have started to order the parts and the build will commence next week.
RCM are fully aware of P2 and have kindly offered to supply any advice we need throughout. We shall be taking up there offer and source certain parts from them.
When complete I aim to use it as a track car, hill climbs, Scooby Shootout etc throughout 2011 with a view of maybe entering Time Attack in 2012.
The car will be completed within 2010.
A little teaser. This is the shell as it is now and we shall also be documenting all works including the wide arch conversion to completion.
The "P2 Thread" will commence soon, we just need to get ahead of things then it should prove an interesting thread to many as well as all the laughs & banter from the first one

LOL That post was before the cat was out of the bag
I think we've established that I'm doing the build now.
There's nothing firm in place yet apart from the fact the shell has been purchased.
I do have some firm ideas for the spec and I'm exploring options as to what would be best for Clive's needs.
As I'm only the builder I think it's out of place for me to update the thread or divulge the spec unless Clive wants me to.
I'm sure he'll be along to update you all in due course.

Daz.
It would be good if you could post the engine build from your end and I can post the metal fab of the shell from this end?
Should flow better then mate.
We could film the shell collection for the crack seeing as SlipperySy is coming too.?
Sy will do the filming, as he can't be seen on tape due to his dodgy life style

Or I tell Daz about that forged "Request to be considered for redundancy" you sent to his employer.
