Default Time Attack 2008 - Mocom Racing's entry

This thread will serve as our base to keep you updated with progress on our entry for this years Time Attack series and a place for us to promote all those that are supporting us

Ours is the one on the right with the car on the left run by Team ESC's very own Essexboy30

We would like to thank our current sponsors who have made this seasons entry possible, without their valued support the events preparation would have been a little more difficult to say the least!

Moton Suspension
We have been working with Moton now for two years developing their ClubSport 3-way suspension system for the Impreza. Extensive testing has been carried out at Bedford Autodrome, Brands Hatch, and Donnington Park and most importantly over 25,000 road miles have been completed ensuring that we have chosen the very best combination of spring and damper rates. The technology used in the Moton Suspension ClubSport system allows the use of softer spring rates than those of their competitors offering class leading handling with superb ride quality. The lumps, bumps and cambers of your favourite 'B' road are soaked up and controlled so well with the ClubSport damper yet show it a smooth circuit and that is when they really begin to excel.

Innovate Motorsports
For use of their excellent data logging tools - keep up the good work guys.

Simtek
Swapping the OE ECU out for a Simtek allows true map switching without the use of a laptop. it also removes the boost control limitation of the standard system which can be problamatic at boost levels in excess of 1.7bar and has the added bonus of charge temperature compensation which cannot be had on the standard set-up without a blow through MAF set-up, this had to be ruled out as we are retaining the STi top mounted intercooler for the foreseeable future - it is our road car afterall!

Noltec Suspension
We have matched the Moton ClubSport dampers to Noltec's adjustable top mount allowing us total control of front caster and camber adjustment on all 4 corners of the car. Noltec adjustable top mounts were used by Zen Performance, on their Time Attack 2007 winning Pro Car and have been used on some of the world's fastest Impreza's including that of Andy Forrest

Sponsorship opportunities still available - If you feel that you have a product that will add value to Team Mocom Racing or have something to offer in support of the team please contact us in the first instance by email to info@mocomracing.com

Be sure to check our News articles to keep on top of what's happening with Team Mocom Racing and the 2008 Time Attack series

Quickest lap of the day was in the 1.21's saw us finish 11th out of 44 runners.
During the last session that went up to 6th position.

Every other car in front had conciderably more power than us and lighter cars.

The car was ran on the day in full weight and full road trim that did include a baby seat in the back. Not only that but fuel surge forced us to run with a full tank of gas all day to avoid surge out of the corners.

Road trim, road suspension, full gas tank, under 450bhp, stock TMIC and still in the 1.21's with no previous shakedown.

A great first TA session.

Zak was running in 6th halfway through the final, but got beaten in the last few laps, to end up in a very good 11th position

Yep 11th was a fantastic result, punched well above his weight.

Baby seat, cracked me up.

Mind you, I thought he would do well, after a passenger ride around Brands a few weeks ago, I knew Zak was very committed and ever so late on the brakes.
