Default Project WRX ........

Been a little busy playing with the car the last few days in the pursuit of a little more power

My plans are to take my Wrx to its limits and see how far i can go before i need to upgrade to a 2.5 lump B)

Currently the car is running 285bhp/286ftlb but i want a little more so will be adding the following new toys to the car

Mods to be added are as follows:

TD05 18g
sti injectors
full 3inch decat system
Fuel pressure regulater
Front mount intercooler
Walbro Fuel pump
Perrin Inlet Pipe

Future mods are

Blobeye front end
Wide arches
Roll cage
Interior stripped out
New anti roll bars and droplinks
Bigger brakes
plus a few more bits !!!!!!

Plus a Simtek ecu and map by Jolly Green Monster

Here are a few pics of whats been done so far

Tdo4 turbo next to Tdo5< you can see the size difference !!!!! Lots of cursing when bolts would not undo !!!!!

Old 2.5inch Exhaust system next to new 3 inch Zero Sports exhaust, will need some cleaning stuff now

New Downpipe, nice and shiny

Downpipe lagged and ready to go on the car, the most itching stuff in the world ( according to Pele )

Turbo and downpipe fitted ( with a few scraped knuckles !!!!! )

Got the Fuel pressure reg and injectors waiting to go on the car, but my next job is to fit the front mount , which i think will be a little bit of fun

And i would like to say thanks to my 2nd mechanic Pele for handing me tools and finding lost bolts etc

Will post up pics when i have done some more to the car which wont be long

Not bad for someone with no under bonnet skills !!!!!!!

UPDATE .............

Well been busy today with the Wrx.

Fitted a perrin inlet hose

The front mount core , nice and shiny too

As it looked first thing this morning

Then half hour later !!!!!!!!

After much debate and thinking decided to cut a little from the frame so as to keep the strength

Trail fitted !!!!???

Refitted the other way up and modified the pipe work to fit around the metal work

Now got to cut the bumper to fit around the front mount, although i will be losing my fog lights because of the pipe work, roll on the morning and daylight again.

Also got walbro fuel pump and fpr to fit tommorrow if i have time

So thats my day and very nearly ready for a remap by Jolly Green Monster

Good effort so far, I fitted my own FMIC and many other parts and it is really satifying when it all works out, keep up the good work!

I've helped restore a couple of classics in the past but am no mechanic, just got to know your limits and don't try anything that can't be undone if you are not sure of it. Leave the important stuff like internals and maps to the pros and that way you don't end up with a dead car!

Bugeye is most likely different to a classic, but I retained my fog lights when I fitted my FMIC.

I know someone local, who preferred the drive of his bugeye with the TD04 to the 18G currently fitted. 16G's can make good power.

I like your approach though. Keep it up.

Well got the bumper back on today and the intercooler sits 3 inches below the bumper !!! Nice and good for air flow but now need to sort out a splitter to hide it

Maybe i should do the front end conversion now lol the newer bumper is deeper ( i think )

got a few more toys to add hopefully this week end weather permitting

A nice set of 2.5 sti injectors

Fuel pressure reg so i get constant supply no matter what !!!!!!

And i got a nice cowling for the instrument panal, the idea is to have
boost and fuel ratio gauges in the cowling
oil temp, oil pressure and water temp on the top of the dash in a defi pod

so its coming along slowly, just got to alter a few pipes under the bonnet and ill be ready for a remap by the Jolly Green Monster

looking good, if its a front splitter yout after, yhen I have one for sale have a look in the sale, it'll be a good few pages back. Lester one nice and deep. Like the JUN one for the classics.

Is that the cowling from the States? If so it doesnt fit our cars, I had to re make mine but butchering a UK 1 and the US 1 together with alot of sanding! Dont want to pi55 on your post BTW.

I love these posts, as I wish I had done it when I done all my work (still doing it!) to my bugeye!

Keep it up!

S!
