can I ask why you remove the map light bracket ? when you can see that the bracket for the roof vent has 2 holes with screws that fit the bracket that you have removed .you should NOT remove it acts as a support for the vent .

When I fitted mine, I left that bracket too.

I prefered to remove it. Those holes are not tapped, just nut/bolt holes. Every other install i have seen removed the bracket too.
Added weight anyway... ha ha ha so better to remove.
All joking aside my vent is incredibly strong anyway and has taken the abuse of 145mph for testing purposes and survived with no problems

Vent works aout at about £250 once its llanded and all tax/duty has been paid.
That includes all the hardware and fixings required, also its worth noting that these vents come pre-painted from the Subaru factory in Japan.

did this to my classic and was 2mm out on 1 side
had to make the flap holes bit bigger and slid it across
