how much you got to spend.TypeR shell is the same sa the p1 and there was also a 1.5 litre 2 door classic shell, its just a case of keeping your eye open on someone that might have blown an engine (like me lol) and cant afford to repair it

i have a uk scooby and would sell that to fund the project car as i have a little run about to get from a to b. i have a bit of money saved up and would use that. i have wanted a 2 door for a while and dont mind doing the work to it. i need to find a damaged one or stolen/recovered.

you mean the running gear?you could but is yours not a uk model?it would all fit but with the expense of transferring everything over and getting the power levels to the same as a typeR is it really worth it.Also i think there is a difference with the seats from the 2 door and 4 door so you would need to find them and various interior and trim parts

yeah a uk model. i have a mechanic friend who has a garage and would help transfer the bits over. the other option is to sell my 98; uk and buy a type r

that might be the best bet as there really is a lot of work involved in swapping parts over then finding all the fiddly parts to make it complete. If youd caught me a couple of weeks ago id probably have sold mine at a very cheap price or done a deal with yours as i have blown a piston among other things, was sick of the car at the time and wanted rid but decided to buy a runabout and put a 2.5 into it over winter, whatever you do a typeR is a completely different beast from a uk model, the close ratio box and dccd are 2 of the things that set it apart and you wouldnt get them using the uk running gear, plus typeR has better suspension etc

It's a 96 STi Mcrae Ltd Edition (so I thought, and I stand to be corrected), with safari roof vent etc. Pics can be seen on pistonheads, as of today the ad is 4 days old, second from bottom (I think!).

Yep, that's the one. I am pretty sure it is a standard car as I have read about it in some threads on here, maybe not called a Mcrae, maybe just a 555 or something similar. I am sure somebody will put me right!

Hillclimber, as much WRC stuff as I can afford! Will def be WRC wide arched, caged and no interior - as all the brackets have been ground off to save weight! Prob go 2.35 route but undecided yet.

It's also an official Prodrive shell with stamp in the bulkhead, pretty sweet...
