Hi all, i have got my power to around where i want it for now. i have got a set of gt spec headers to go onto the car in the new year, so now i want to clean up my engine bay to make it look more pleasing to the eye.

i will add pics as time goes by and i add more things.

any ideas on what i could do would be greatfull.

i like carbon, and not to much in your face. £££ does play a big part, so would profer if i could make it my self.

engine bay bling is not realy my thing but how about a radiator slam panel, its suposed to be funtional and can look quite tidy.

How did the custom pipework and the Aps cak work out in the end???

 

not bad really, the map tweek went fine i think. have got some new heat wrap tape to go around it, when i get 5 mins.

it was abit of a cut and try, when i was putting the pipe work together, but it worked out well in the end. it also have a more direct flow then how it is standard

 

an update with a couple of new bits, and pics

 

Powder coating things like the alternator belt cover, header tank and map sensor bracket (pretty much anything that unbolts easily) in matt black helped tidy my engine bay a little. Requires the car to be off the road for a couple of days but is cheap.

 

i always thought about getting the alternator housing powder coated too, to tidy it up as that is in your face all of the time.

 

is powder coating something you can do your self? or would it be best to send away somewhere to get done?

 

Powder coating isn't really a DIY job, unfortunately.

Best to find someone local that does it.

good idea, but need the boot for baby stuff etc.

have got a set of GFB blue anodised pullys to fit, so hopefully it will smarten the front up abit

very nice, i wonder how well the red scotchbrite pads and wd40 do at cleaning up the ally bits?

 

dont get me wrong, Kenny was particularly **** about it, and I believe he was in a better position to have things fabricated and powder coated.
It was more about giving you some inspiration to your goal
