Default Project V6 Sti race car build up..

Here is a little story that started Ooohh sooo long ago... I woke one day and decided, that my street car will never really cut it out to be what I wanted it to... especially being a wagon, and espcially doing 1200km a week... so the search started for a dedicated track car for me to put my engine and Gearbox and set up in...
Was most likely going to be a Jap import, sell the motor and box, strip the car out, throw all my gear into it, including a cage... and a racing we go.... Well... wasn't I in for a shock.. and how things change...
While on the search, I came across a sick little puppy that was possibly for sale that was australian complied, already set up for GTP and tarmac racing, but suffered a little incident at the Bathurst 24 hour (please send me photos if you have any)... (if you can call rolling 6 times at 160km/h at the end of conrod straight a 'little' incident...

a few weeks latter, I made the phone calls and organised to go check this car out... was I in for a little shock...
Anyways... when I saw it, instead of running the opposite way, my excitement grew... evern though my friends told my I was insane... (no names mentioned)... basically, I went home, did some maths, worked out what it would cost to fix (me doing most of the work) and decided this was the challenge for me...

and the work started to pull it down to repair...

Currently the car is all fixed, painted, and getting put back together...

Here are a few pics of the car being painted, and still very naked.

Here is where we are up to at the moment, basically ready to put the engine in and drive traing in.
the engine is an EJ22 built to 500hp, running a DCCD 6 speed with a plated spec C R180 rear diff.

and one last of the inside
inside...

Here are some update photos... haven't had much time to work on it, but getting there slowly, all the suspension etc is in now... so hopefully not to much longer.
Got the V mount intercooler/radiator done, but I'm not 100% happy with the radiator, so we may change it a little..

Good grief!
A 22B guy on Snet!
At least that will save me channel hopping...

A welcome addition to the Projects page, best part of Snet.
