Talking RR day today

Well Im pleased
Went to the rolling road at Janspeed today, nice enough but the fan may as well been a hairdryer LOL
there was no coastdown to get the figure at the fly so all at the wheels.

278bhp/283ft-lbs at the wheels
Lovely smooth fuel on the graph

peak torque looks like 3300 rpm plateau to 5250 ish then tails everso slightly, peak power seems to be at 6200 rpm, we had to add about 12% to the WG duty to get it anything like road boost levels.

I dont have a clue what "average" transmission losses are on a 99 classic UK but it feels good and punchy on the road and that has been backed up by a lovely fat graph
Big thanks to Simon, Jolly green monster, for some last minute on the road in and diagnosing the blown i/c pipe causing much richness

You just need another 30hp and you're there

What boost?

1.6 peak but it tailed off again like our trip WRCTech first to 1.5 then to 1.4 at 6k rpm, as you probably remember it holds a lot steadier than that.
LOL at 30bhp, every horse gets so much more expensive the further up you move
I had a hefty methanol content but didnt advance any globally on the commander because it was a shootout couple of runs as a club day out

I find that you need 3 full power runs back to back to hit the boost it will actually run on the rollers. Second run will spoolup about 400rpm sooner, and make about 0.1bar more across the rev range. 3rd run will spool about 100rpm sooner again, and possible make a little more boost depending on the controller.

You can't really do that on a TMIC car as the I/C heats up too much.

What rollers were they? 278hp at the wheels on a MAHA is good going.

Well Lane did that to my Sti last year (as Paul states above) and the engine peaked on the 3rd blast, then fell away on the subsequent 2 runs due to TMIC heating.

Not MAHA Paul, Winpep Dynojet? its a single roller under each axle.
Im also at 100% IDC on the 550's so they need upgarading/"lateral-ing"
They dont turn the fan on until the operator changes into fourth
