Unhappy Engine problems

Preparing a trak car at present and have ran into the following problems....

Just fitted a new version 2 engine to car. While engine was out stripped out clifford p600 larm system every wire was traced to source and disconected.

Engine started off key no probelms but will only run for a couple of seconds and then cut out..............

This is the first scoob engine replacemet we have done checked everything we can think of but still not having any joy!!!!

Anyone make any suggestions on what to check????????

If it cuts out that quickly, it could be that you have not reconnected the MAF electrics, or knackered the MAF sensor. No MAF signal, no go.

Also the Idle control vale pipe did you plumb that back in to the inlet tract post MAF, as same effect - no go - if left off / to atmosphere.
Unless you are using an ECU that doesn't use the MAF in which case I am talking b0llocks!

I suppose the easy answer is - does the ECU need to see the alarm, and if it gets no signal it shuts down??

I think Vulnax is correct. The ecu sutting down due to interface with an alarm system.
