Default halfway through a little project..

Take one uk impreza turbo, a plasma cutter and just remove any offending front panel

Take one bumper and an air saw.. see new(er) intercooler and an oil cooler

Modified intercooler that was donated.. added a centre exit

Get a little fibreglass resin..

Ammended bumper.. not going for looks or show winning cars here you know

Trial Fit.. (will fibreglass to intercooler to force air through!)

Might as well shove a splitter on at the same time

Sorry to bore you but thought Id share some pics for your amusement!

Looks like this is going to turn out a good project.

It would be good if you could post some more pics and info on what youve done etc, see the final out come.

Good Luck!

Marc.

who gives a ****.. its had a light bump by the looks of things at the front..

I have a spot welder and can put a new full front panel in if needed.. or I could weld part in and you wouldnt be able to tell.

I saw this thread early this AM complete with little red x's. Not sure the car pics are an improvement.

Is the left hand side staying to support the numberplate then?

Should be great for cooling but will the bonnet stay stuck down? You almost need an extractor, not a scoop.....

Bonnet pins hold the bonnet.. a lot more secure than before

I will be making a new front panel..

The front panel doesnt really play a part in the rigidity of the car.. the main part is the bottom cross member.. it stops the headlights and corners flexing though..

and the centre bar normally stops the bonnet from 'talking' whilst driving!

Andy... as long as possible but only about 1ft high..

thinking of bypassing the heater in the car.. and removing / drilling the stat...if that doesnt work.. a rad in the boot.

don't bypass the heater, just put the heater on full. or do you mean put an extra radiator where the top mount sits plumbed into the heater points?

paul I would have done that, but removing the heater can cause a considerable drop to water temps

David, how does removing the heater reduce temps? You're effectively removing a radiator and reducing the volume of coolant in the system? Though now I think of it, I assume coolant always flows through the heater but it's not always got a flow of air to cool it....

I think it makes the water circulate around the system quicker..

Its just an option to try.. as the rad is worrying me.. god knows what Im gonna do for radiator hoses..

Power Id guess when fully mapped in excess of 550bhp and 550lbft.. judging by a similar engine (higher compression ration, tamer cams, smaller turbo)

I also have

so in theory, not having bored the block to 2.33, it would be stronger, or am i missing the point entirely?
