Are there any mk1 escorts left out there?
#1
I have always fancied owning a mk1 escort rs1600 or rs2000 but i never seem to see any for sale anymore. What would i expect to pay for a good one of these nowadays? Has anyone got one out there and if so could you post a few pics. Cheers Gary

Lo Mcgary
A m8 of mine has a mk1 hillclimb car with 180bhp but cos of the rules and regs were now thinkin of building it into a 70s touring car and useing it for track days. Its got fg bubbles atm but wants to steal arch it or put the big bubbles like the touring car should have and is in the process of purchasing a cossie turbo motor. Also theres a mint mk1 round the corner steal arched done like esso blue very nice theres also a mexico so they r still out there
Me misses used to tarmac rally a mk1 with her dad until the rac change the rules made it to expensive
Thx
Tim

If anyone has GDG 639L then I would like it back please.
It was my first Mk1 and also my first road legal car.
It was stolen and has never been seen since
(this was many moons ago) err 1990/1.
Would love another one as a proper project toy.
(when the scoob is done of course )

Brothers MK1 Escort bit the dust on Sunday whilst competing at 3 Sisters Sprint. Was an immaculate 2l Pinto with around 170bhp. Immaculate before the roll.

My best mates nextdoor neighbour bought a MkII Rs2000 last month, absolutely gorgeous car, bought it for £1000..
Has spent about the same on rear arches, respray and a brake mast cylinder and is spot on now, the Painter asked him if he wanted the webasto roof taking off
Very nice 'old scool' motor, Interior is mint and the original wheels needed a bit of a clean up.
Only thing left is for him to replace the window rubbers, they have perished slightly.
There is a co in Kent that makes them apparently??
Rob

Can only find a few pictures. Its been heavily campaigned in the North West in the Mid Cheshire Motor Racing Club.
Haven't reduced these as much as the other pics were a bit on the small side.
Not sure how much I can say about it as I don't really know the detail, but its a 2l Pinto rebuilt by Nobles.
Quaife Prosport box, with Tran-x plated diff,
Anti-tramp bars, coilovers on the front, de-canvered (if thats the right word) leaf springs on the back.
Group A twin 40 down draught carbs
