Anyway new motor spec,

Wiseco Forged Pistons 0.5mm oversize

K1 forged h beam rods

ARP Headstuds

Fuji Stopper headgaskets

ACL bearings

Brand new nitride crank

11mm oil pump

All new seals gaskets and seals aswell.

Also fitted a vf43 turbo ported with a billet wheel, exedy pink box clutch, and a walbro 255 fuel pump.

Then the motor went back in, had to modify the downpipe and make a cat back exhaust, but im pretty handy with the tig welder...

Thanks alot, There has been a few times where ive said i need to stop chucking money at it but its a project, i need to bring it back from being beat to ****, back to something decent. Hopefully i dont have as much money in the project as its worth anyway. So in theory i should break even if i give up, but not thinking about that yet. Once its been mapped properly itll be a lot of fun i imagine.

And the welding isnt great but i bought a tig welder and self taught from youtube, with the intention to one day go self employed and make exhausts, but im currently flat out at work and dont have the time

Enginetuner baby!
I had been doing some road/remote mapping with Martyn, and we got to a point where afrs kept going whacky and he needed to see it, so off it went. Turns out i fitted an aftermarket lambda sensor and thats why. So Martyns minions fitted a new genuine one and on the dyno the car went. Magic performed and i was left with...

A very respectable result i think. Very happy with it. I must say im very happy with Enginetuner in general, im an ideal customer really in that i just sent it up there and said whenever you get to it... But they were brilliant got it in well quick and had a look, phoned me and told me what it needed, then done the work and let me know it was done, was only there a few days.

Anyway i got it back and cleaned it and finally got my private plate on it

Nice, EJ25’s do make shed loads of torque in the 3-3,500rpm range compared to an EJ20.

Can I ask what you were using for remote road mapping? I am assuming he was “logged in” & able to make changes as you were driving? (Which sounds like an excellent solution to getting a running in map on a fresh build).

It's definately torquey which is nice, I want more power though 😂 but don't we all?!

No I basically used a tactrix cable to communicate with the ecu and I'd go out and drive and log full throttle runs up and down a private road and then send them to Martyn and he analysed them and made changes to the map file, then send me the file and I uploaded it to the car and then go again doing power runs and so on, over and over.

I think that was with romraider logger? If you start researching it there's another program I can't remember what it's called now 😩 if you know what your doing you can do the mapping yourself. These opensource programs are free ☺️

Well the good news is 450BHP could well be a turbo & a few supporting mods away (I know it never ends)

Thanks, I’ll look into it. I don’t know what I am doing with regards to mapping, I did map a GSXR-1000 myself using a Bazzaz fuel module & O2 sensor but that was more of a “ride, connect laptop, review table, click upload & repeat” scenario.

Being able to check it’s safe after a fresh build to complete running before a proper final map sounds good though.

Cheers

Yeah I think that is the case, Martyn has recommended a hybrid turbo to fit so I'm gonna start saving up for that ☺️ I need brakes and stuff aswell though 😩 never ending....

Oh yeah a biker man I've got a 1999 YZF R6 aswell 😍

When you say hybrid are you referring to having your existing unit reworked or something built?

I retired from bikes, stopped enjoying if as much & as I got older the injuries I accumulated started giving me more grief. I threaten to make a comeback every so often, but then I come to my senses & realise that’s funds that I could sink into the scoob
