Default MY99 Wagon tidy and upgrade

AS most of you know I bought a MY99 Turbo 2000 Wagon from a gy in Blackburn who clocked it so the shell has over 180k and the engine has 126k with a receipt, which took some time to sort.

lots of pics from day 1 to now or when I update

Day 2 of ownership found **** loads of rad weld in the system so spent the best part of 2 hours flushing the engine with a hose pipe and cleaning the expansion bottle. and found the leak.

spotted I had a nice decat downpipe.

Decided to remove the FMIC and go for a newage TMIC

One thing that bugged me from day one was that the central locking only unlocked and not locked but you could hear it trying and It turned out to be a loose bolt

Looks like a mad axe man fitted it

Then the crash

Then 3 days later and Tesco home delivery truck parked on the hill I live on and the handbrake cable snapped and took out the bonnet the grill and the bumper bar the latch, generally anything on the front. No pics

Started buying bits off here and facebook and surrey scoobies

Fitting the bloody samco

Changed the power steering fluid and worthwhile doing

Walk around with exhaust

All the new shiney b and blue bits added video. Fuel is low as the cars been parked and the fuel was better in the Ninja

These came yesterday and i'm very happy with them

The spare slot is for a wide band at a later date

No senders installed as it was pissing it down so did all the inside work

AE802 ECU removed and fitted a AE801 and the car sounds better and seems more responsive. Could be my imagination?

Got wires from the engine bay through the firewall using the rubber grommet behind the brake lines on the drivers side.

Only managed to wire up the boost sensor as im waiting on a oil pressure sender relocation kit coming.

These Motor Meter Racing gauges are pretty responsive with no lag that I could see.

Another great grass routes thread on saving another classic

If you were nearer I would come and spend a couple of days helping to clean up the engine bay with krust ,autosol and a good general clean up

Great thread
Keep up the good work

Cheers lads.

I do have a little set back I received some body panels in my colour 95H which is rare apparently. The parts I received were below sub standard so ive had to mess about tracking down more pars and I have from a local breaker who isnt a member on here.

So the rebuild starts tomorrow/today.

Pic of how i mounted my oil sensor

Got a surprise coming next sunday the 2nd March all being well

Nice, I like that style of wheel.
Shame about the edges though,
maybe they need a bit of sanding
to smooth them down and a bit of paint
like you say.

I have started on those alloys the the one pictures is the one with the really bad edge pictured above.

Good work, nice to see people keeping them going rather than breaking or going newage.

Need to make a thread for mine

I have been speaking with the previous owner of my car well the guy before the one who lied to me.

My engine has been rebuilt and has:
Cosworth Rods
Cosworth Pistons
Polished and balanced crank
ACL race bearings
ARP head studs
Subaru multi layered HG
Gates Timing belt

Iv'e no idea what its worth in money value but I know its good for 400hp or more :P

is the flux capacitor working as it should? once you hit 88mph you end up in a cheesey 80s film.

Besides that, excellent project mate subscribed - nice to see a classic wagon receive some love And as for that spec - that should equate to a very fast car

Fair play for doing what you're done.

Looks nice on the wheels.

Good work
