Default SR powered impreza

Thought I'd put up a little project thread of my current impreza which is a 1999 UK turdo2000
Had about 4-5 years now and was used daily and odd track use.
After its Cambelt tension bolt failed causing it to bend every valve bar two I kind of lost interest in it for a while, tho I did put another engine in it but was never to happy with it and continued just to leave it covered up on the drive!
Last few months got an urge to sort and do something a little different, so currently fitting an sr20det engine and gearbox and running rwd and semi space framing the front end. No doubt there will be some hate and why's I'm ruining it haha but just thought I'd do something different
Pics to follow

When I first tested the engine I basically just dropped it in the bay on the subframe. Engine sat way to high so started modding a spare subframe

Little update have not done much lately as waiting for steel to turn up as I can start the space frame front. Started stripping engine down so bits can get powder coated and cleaned up, also removal of parts not needed.
Thought be time to clean up the 6 pots as there looking a bit seasoned. Had some nice spacers made aswell for the cradle and mounts

I like this project conceptually

Now that you're using a longitudinal engine, will there be enough space for double wish bones too?

I could alter the suspension setup on the front now but doubt I'll be doing much with the geometry of the suspension just yet. Be interesting to see how it handles

Little update got most of the front sorted now and all brackets in just to fully weld it. Wasn't happy with my front subframe modifications would have done fine just a little to close to the sump in certain areas so I decided to just go and make a fresh frame from scratch
