Default Blob sti widetrack 2.1

Hi guys,

First thread on here but i thought seen as ive started my blob build i would create a thread!

So the car is a 2005 blob sti widetrack in 02c blue. Purchased 12 months ago with 79000 miles.

Current spec:
APS wing mounted intake
Larger TMIC
Full 3inch decat exhaust with custom back box
H&S headers and uppipe
pierburg 3 port bcs
exedy stage 2 clutch and flywheel
vf48 turbo
apex coilovers
whiteline f+r ARBs
CDF pitch mount
CDF droplinks and ALK

After about 10 months the 360bhp it has started to bore me and ive got used to it.

Future spec:
2.1 CDB
BW EFR 7670 rotated turbo
hdi fmic
ID 1000cc injectors
cdf high flow rails
fuel lab fpr
custom swirl pot setup
stage 4 comp clutch paddle and flywheel
alcatek ecu AL LC
RCM gt spec headers
Custom made up and downpipe
Rotated inlet mani and custom FMIC pipework
Twin scroll sump with cosworth baffle
And much more!

Heres the car as it is now.

Its going to be a long project but well worth it! WTS!

Little update on my build. Today i removed the crash bar and measured up for my fmic brackets. Removed my inlet mani and started my parallel CDF rails. TGVs and inlet are off for paint so should be looking good! Also changed my mind on turbo. Going for an internally gated Borg Warner EFR 7670. Rotated with a dash of methanol! Ive also got a lot of parts for sale but it wont let me post them in the sales section. Any advice on that?

You need to be a paid member to advertise in the parts for sale section, otherwise ebay

Going the same route with my Widetrack as far as the turbo, what headers are you using? I've decided on a custom set of equal length.

Eventually 2.35 but for now staying with the standard 2.0 with supporting mods to take it to around 420/420. Its my trackday/hill climb toy so keeping things fairly sensible until a later date.

2.1's are mighty, the lateral track car is testament to that. Good luck with it, look forward to seeing the results.

Another update!

Fitted my HDI GT2 core today. Never had a bracket so i used the crash bar and cut it all out to suit. Cut my bumper out for it. Ive just got to do the finer cutting with a dremel. Also got my piping on its way so that will be fitted once it arrives.

Inlet mani, pas bracket, rallytech header tank and tgv deletes are in for gloss black powder coating.

Will update again when they are back!

As i said in the last post i will update once parts are back from paint. Well here they are.

Built up my mani just for a sneak preview of what its going to look like on the car

Also yesterday i gave my homemade fmic bracket (cut up crash bar) a lick of gloss black paint to try and prevent the rust!

After a long chat with lateral performance this morning i may be switching back to my original plan of a billet gt30 rotated. This is due to the BW EFR turbos being 4inches longer than the gt series so alot of modifications to uppipe/downpipe would be needed!

Will keep the updates coming as i further my progress.

That's part of the reason I'm having a custom set of equal length headers, the same place will also make a custom up pipe to suit the rotated BW EFR I'm having. Costs a little more than off the self headers and up pipe but you get a lifetime warranty and they offer better performance gains over the normal GT Spec bits.

I have enquired about a custom full rotated setup. Priced at 1400 but my god does it look good! Ive just thought! That would be cheaper than buying the rcm headers and rotated kit. I think ive been abit stupid. Custom setup it is!

Well all my parts are now back from the powder coaters. All fmic pipework and alternator bracket. Along with the parts in the previous posts.

Just need to order all new red couplers for the piping.

Also ive decided the engine bay will be painted the same colour as the car when the engine is out. Block, heads, gearbox and all the parts above will be gloss black. New PAS pump and alternator to keep the new look going. All piping/hoses will be re done in braid except for the top and bottom radiator hoses which will remain red. Hopefully will look good!

Thinking of going down the same way with my pipe work. Where r u order couplers from. R u going to keep the fmic in standard position or rotating?

Theres a few companys that do different hoses mate. Auto silicone hoses will do any hose any size. And viper performance aswell! Its just figuring out what couplers i actually need now as im rotating my turbo. Fmic is staying stock location. Untill i flip my inlet manifold

Little update

Ive decided 100% now on the turbo choice for my build. Ill be using the Borg Warner efr 7670. Not seen many people here in the UK with these turbos so i thought instead of using the usual gt30 id be different. Ill also be ordering my custom manifold, uppipe and downpipe at the end of next week. Heres the same one im ordering. Looks awesome
