Unhappy >>>>US STi 2.5 LITRE 20G CLASSIC IMPREZA £9,800 OVNO<<<<

The time has come to sell the best Impreza i've ever owned!

Debt has grown and i have to cut my losses and sell her.

It's a model year 99/00 and was bought new on 03/10/2000 and it's a Belgium import. It's in Royal Silver and has 1 previous owner, known as John Banks, who i'm sure you'll all know, from Scoobynet and 22B.com. Current mileage is just under 64k and it's on an X plate. It has a full sevice history and will get a new oil filter and oil(Millers 10W60) very soon.

I acquired the car, from John Banks on 14/11/05, needing head gaskets done. I took on the job and in January, got the car back on the road, when it got MOT'd.

The car has been mapped by Rob Gallagher(Tweenierob) and pulls a max boost of 1.48 bar and drops to 1.2 bar at about 5500 revs. I can't stress enough how much of an awesome package this really is. Ask anyone who has driven a 2.5 litre, with a 20G and they will all say the same....it's the best set-up you could ask for, without going silly. 350bhp and 350lbsft of torque is easily acheived with this set-up, so it should be confortable higher than that.

While i fitted the head gaskets, i replaced the pistons with some brand new STi pistons, purely as the offer for them was there. Thanks again Rob.

I've spent so much time and effort on this car, that it breaks my heart to sell it and as Nigel(Beario) pointed out at the weekend, "You only live once!", i'm afraid, that money rules, when you have too much going out every month, than coming in.

I was intending on asking for about 11k for the car, or there-abouts, but 3rd and 5th gear syncros are on their way out, so i'll take a figure below that quoted above(syncros can cost under £20 each, depending on what's needed). I could still get the box sorted at the moment myself, but i thought i'd offer it this way, as it's still works fine and money is tight. The front splitter needs a respray due to stone chips, which i will get done, but the bodywork is close to immaculate for a 6 year old car. Interior, however, IS immaculate.

I wish for anyone to get in contact me, only if they are genuinly interested and i will ask any questions i can, but if there is anything i CAN'T answer about the car, i'm sure John will be happy to help. I WILL consider a part exchange, but only on an early WRX, up to the value of 3k. I'd prefer a WRX Wagon in black, if anyone has one???

It's one of the first paragraphs. Sorry if it isn't clear enough...just under 64,000 miles.

Just to add, it's probably done all in about 4-5k miles since the last amount of engine work(head gaskets etc), was done, including a 900 mile round trip down south. Runs as sweet as a nut.

Very unfortunate you have to sell Dave, but good luck with it anyways. Minter of a car for someone, especially someone looking into going down the potentially expensive road of a 2.5 conversion on their classic - all the work has already been done!

Still for sale. but playing at it a little. The problem is I want a toy to replace it, but finding it hard to justify spending the extra for something that will be slower and probably go wrong on me. But on the other hand If I don't sell the scoob now, I will just keep plowing money into it and never move on.

Cheers Stew.

I know exactly what you mean. Gotta remember it's on a car at the end of the day, but it's a cracking machine too though. Hope it goes ok for you Rob.

Couple more pics...

The wideband, will be removed and cup holder put back in it's place. It's not going with the car.

Having toiled over modding an Impreza this car represents fabulous value.
Talk about the hard work being done.

I've been in a 2,5/20g and that car is fantastic, just so so drivable. This car is tweeked further still by some clever blokes, a real deal.
Why is it still here?

Too damn true Graham!

I initially planned to buy and build a strong 2 litre in the next scoob and run high boost, as it's so cheap to do nowadays, but since i've had this all sorted, i'm now trying to stretch the funds to allow another 2.5 build, as it's just SO GOOD!

If only Subaru brought this all out as a standard package!

As above, i'll accept a Wagon in p/x up to value of 3k, preferrably in black, but doesn't HAVE to be.
