i bought a clutch of blue register member.and the clutch dosnt fit my six speed box,he said it was out of his classic.and he was using a six speed in .it dosnt fitt,ive have been talkn to dennis at excedy just incase it was put in the the garage done something wrong. but it was install correctly the first time ive made them take out the clutch f or the third time,i feel cheated.and very angery

what are you using it on are you fiiting to a six speed gera box and fly wheel what year car do you ahve as a five speed clutch should fit a six speed gear box

Thats strange as the clutch should fit both 5 and 6 speed box.
Happydude303 - It comes with its own flywheel. Its a twin plate item.

I thought the seller offered to install the clutch for you to prove it was good?

Sorry to hear your having problems. I actually considered buying this clutch but didn't know if I was going 5 or 6 speed.

 

the member you mentioned above has sold many of things and is a good guy. i have bought stuff of him and never been let down.

have you spoken to him about it.

and as above what box you using. why does it not fit? did they say what was wrong.

 

what if your six speed boxes are different? just because it fitted his doesnt mean 'one size fits all' surly? he sold you an item, not his fault it doesnt fit your box

IMO you should have done your homework before buying it, not after.

 

I was under the impression that there is only one type of 6 speed box with a relevant clutch that will only fit that box ?

I know you can get several 5 speed clutches

There,s two sorts off gear boxes dccd and normal one the clutch should fitt both,ive already asked excedy that question if it was the write CLUTCH sold in the first place there wouldnt have been a problem,

 

i think thats wrong. and you havent said whats wrong.

is the pin no engaging in the clutch when fitting back in. that can be a pain. is it catching somewhere. there are different clutchs and the pins did change on a certain y. the number of teeth were different. but if the part is working and in good order and was sold to you in good con bvut does not fit what you want then is this not just mis judgement rather than a personal dig.

 

i have nothing personal with any one on scooby net ive been a member for a few weeks,there,s know mis judgement beacuse the clutch has been taken out of the car three times know and the garage is know mickey mouse,may be there could have been problems the first time not three times.well it dosnt matter any way ive just bought a new clutch.wouldnt buy off him again.

 

Still you havent said whats wrong with it. Before coming on and moaning sayin youve been ripped off maybe say whats wrong with it so people can help you incase something has been over looked

 

If they knew what they were doing they would have been able to tell whether it would fit or not just by looking at it.....


I have a 5 speed exedy twin plate and know for a fact it works with a six speed box....

 

am i not right in saying that the uk 6-speeds are different sizes to the jap (sti ) 6-speed ones ???

Hold on fella, I wish you messaged me first! The clutch is for a 6 speed box as it was fitted to a JDM six speed box in my car. There is absolutly nothing wrong with the clutch so before you starting trying to trying slag me off fella ring me and I will come and fit the clutch correctly.

Did the garage in question fit the release bearing to the pressure plate prior to fitting the gearbox. As to ensure secure engagement this has to be done first. As by trying to push the release bearing onto to pressure plate with the release fork after the box is fitted won't work. Clutch alignment is critical as the primary shaft can foul the trust bearing which can seem as if the clutch dosen't fit. Also the clutch plates only fit in one direction so this is another area which requires attention.

The clutch I sold you is designed for a six speed box but even so a 5 speed Excedy clutch will also fit a 6 speed box so you won't experience fitting issues with either.

I would direct your anger at the garage your using and I more than happy to go to the garage and fit the clutch and prove that the clutch will fit and is in fully working order. Just ask the garage the remove the gearbox and I have your car up and running in no time. Cover my fuel costs and I'll bring all my own tools, or forward me the garages number and I talk the mechanic through how to fit the clutch.

i agree seems like a sound bloke and good offer to me! you should always contact the seller before assuming you have been ripped off and certainly before bad mouthing them!

 

im new to scoobynet and have been looking around in the back ground,but have to comment on this,bluerigster seems to know his stuff and offered to fit this from the begining,and even after stubling across this thread is still willing to do so,so he seems like a genuine bloke to me,maybe a simple pm in the begining could of resolved this,i hope this end well for all

Having met Blue Rigster (Jon) at a couple of SWS meets I would say that you could not meet a more honest, knowledgeable and helpful member of Scoobynet.

Perhaps before coming onto a public forum you should have tried PM'ing, e-mailing or even calling him (assuming you have his mobile number) it is just a shame that you have tried slagging him off first before trying to resolve the problem amicably.

I think his offer of help is more than generous and I hope that when this problem is resolved you will have the decency to give a public apology.
