205 Mi16 Road/Track car.. Huge Spec.
Track day car anyone?
Peugeot : Mi16 Road/Track Car - Huge Spec
Due to the need to buy something more practical, the time has come to sell my stripped out 205 Mi16. This car is seriously quick and on track, can embarrass some serious and a lot more expensive machinery. The handling and grip is fantastic.
The car was built in July 2002 by LAD Motorsport. I purchased the car in October 2006 from the first owner since the car built. It had done only 9,500 miles when I brought it and I have done about 2,000 since October 2006.
Bodywork:
Stripped and lightened body shell.
6 point OMP FIA Roll cage.
Corbeau 'Sprint Exel' competition seats.
Competition harnesses for each seat.
Engine:
MI-16, 16V 1.9 alloy block.
Fully rebuilt using fit forged pistons, new liners, main and big end bearings.
Fully balanced engine inc fully rework and gas flow Cylinder head.
High output oil pump & baffled sump kit
Peugeot 'Tarmac Rally' camshafts.
Twin Weber 45 carburettors, cast inlet manifolds and suitable exhaust manifold.
Distributor conversion kit for MI-16 engine.
Peugeot Group N exhaust system.
Recently had the carbs completely rebuilt and inlet manifold was re-worked at the time. Estimated to be in the region of 220bhp.
Gearbox:
Gear box fully rebuilt and fitted with a lower final drive and c/ratio gears
Quick Shift Gear Change fitted. All gear change rods renewed.
Competition clutch.
Suspension:
Bilstein adjustable dampers
LAD tarmac rally / track day up rated, lowered front springs.
Up rated rear antiroll bar.
Full rebuild of rear suspension beam with new bearings and seals.
Brakes:
Front - enlarged 283mm diameter, vented, cross drilled front disks.
Rear - cross drilled disks.
Ferodo DS2000 pads.
It recently had a full service (<1,500 miles ago), including cambelt. It was here that the carbs were re-built and the inlet manifold was worked on. This was all carried out by Field Motorsport.
Fire extinguishers (two of them) seen in the pictures will remain.
Overall the condition of the bodywork is fine. I'm a bit of a polisher, and it depends what standard of presentation you're looking for. Having owned new cars (106 GTI, Impreza Turbo) they of course are finished to a much better standard. But the 205 is very presentable considering its age and original quality.
The wheels are completely unmarked original 1.9 GTI items.
Car is fitted with a Toad Thatcham approved alarm/immobiliser. Remote central locking. Electric windows for that little bit of luxury....
6 months tax.
I will also have a new MOT put on the car.
Offers?
thanks
Ross

Thanks Frayz... you still driving the black STI?
Not sure if you remember but you followed me back to my folks place on the Dengie roads in my old Scoob.. I'm considering getting another but a Type R. The other thought is to stretch the budget a little further and get an E39 M5... can't decide though..
All the best
