Magent - yes you need a dish and free to air card from the BBC to use it for Free to Air channels

Gregh - It does get better sound through the optical output but no DD 5.1. one reason why I brough SKY+

Wibes69 - It is about 16 months old, unmarked and ready to post in origional box.
