Due to head gasket failure on my car 3 months ago, I've been working on sorting out the engine ready to go back in the car. I just checked my insurance for the coming year and it looks like it has gone up from £1000 to nearer £1800! Even though I am another year older, another years no claims, up to 4 years now, and now own a house! This is a f*cking joke, so I'm thinking about breaking/selling my scoob and getting something more sensible for insurance, like a porsche or BMW, everything seems cheaper than a scoob for some reason?

Anyways, back to the engine. It has 15k on the bottom end, receipts to prove and has always been nice and quiet.

I've fitted:
STI Triple layer steel gaskets
Brand New Exedey Stage 1 clutch with freshly skimmed flywheel
All new tensioner, belt and all rollers
All other gaskets and wee bits and pieces renewed as matter of course
Heads skimmed
New Waterpump and thermostat
NGK Platinum plugs

I've spent £800 on all of this

The engine is ready to drop in, would come with T5 turbo and all ancillaries

Looking for £1200

I was doing this properly as I want to keep the car, I will still keep it if I can find insurance for £1000 or less
