Exclamation STi5 Type RA 555 WRC Limited

Impreza WRX STi 5 Type RA 555 WRC Limited

Full spec car with all the usual parts for this model such as 13:1 quickrack, Climate control, DCCD, blue seat interior etc. 70K miles, 12 months MOT, BIMTA certified car. I’ve owned the car for 2 ½ years and it’s now a very well sorted example..

Suspension:
KW Variant 3 coilovers, corner weighted and geometry setup for fast road use.
Whiteline front and rear ARB’s
Whiteline ALK

Wheels/tyres:
Standard 16” wheels with excellent Toyo T1R tyres

Brakes:
Standard 4 pot front setup with new disks and Pagid RS15 pads
Standard 2 pot rear with refaced disks and Performance friction pads

Transmition:
Front helical LSD
DCCD centre diff with MY99 close ratio gear set
R180 rear diff

Engine:
Engine built 10K miles ago to the following spec
2.0 litre Closed Deck Block with oil squirters, decked and honed to correct clearances for high boost/power applications, block converted to phase 2 thrust bearing location.
Oil pump stripped, checked and shimmed for 7BAR oil pressure
8.3:1 compression ratio
STi9 cross drilled and nitrided crank
STi8 forged pistons and rings
STi9 Rods with rod bolts
STi9 steel head gaskets
ACL race main and big end bearings
STi5 heads freshly decked and valve seats cut, correct STi5 cams and valve springs (all individually pressure checked) etc, clearances shimmed correctly
16 x new Supertech stainless valves, new valve stem seals
TD05 Big 16G FE turbo running at 1.8BAR peak, 1.6BAR at top end
EcuTek Mapped by Bob Rawle showing 338BHP, 347Lbft on the Zen Performance RR last month, shows aprox 10BHP/Lbft more on the road using Delta Dash
AP racing organic clutch, feels like stock with no judder unlike some alternatives
Exedy billet flywheel
Ported and wrapped stock headers with slip jointed magnex up-pipe (small bore version ideal for spool and 400BHP power levels)
Scoobymania 3” stainless downpipe and resonator centre with bespoke quieter than usual 3” system backbox
PFR7B plugs
High flow panel filter
Group N fully baffled sump
Oil breather system with return to sump feed
The engine is specced for over 400BHP with a turbo and injector swap and remap, it’s currently setup for daily use and is a very quick cross-country drive with lots of lag free torque.

Engine management:
BRD EcuTek remap
Apexi AVCR boost controller
SX FPR
Walbro 255lt fuel pump
Reverse flow fuel rail setup

Other:
New radiator with engine rebuild (common fault is reduced flow leading to head gasket issues on the classics now)
New headlamps at MOT, stone damaged one so I replaced both to ensure perfect match.
Defi gauges for Boost, Fuel Pressure, Oil Pressure, Oil temperature with Controller II in 3 centre pod and single RH dash pod.
Alpine full closure radio/CD system with power amp and speaker system

I am happy to negotiate price and remove the Defi’s, (£400) AVCR (I have a new 3 port that it is mapped for also) (£200) and baffled sump (£400) if that brings the car into your budget range.

Ideally I’m looking to sell just after Christmas/New Year and am happy to take a small deposit and hold it until then.

£8500

Thanks guys.

Hi Tony, good to see you are still around.

I don't get much time during the racing season to get out and about these days so tend to stick to 22B.COM to keep up with what everyone is doing etc.

These are the best classic IMHO (22B excepted of course), this is my second one of this model, my last one is still going strong with the same owner i sold it to 5 years ago.

I walk to work these days, so mostly use the car at the weekend. A lot of the year my weekends are tied up too, so I'm planning on changing to something a bit more GT like for taking the odd long trip to see my friends and family which are spread about a bit now.

The car doesn't really get used to it's potential anymore, so it would be nice to pass it on to someone who would appreciate it and i can get my pipe and slippers out for the type of driving i do more of these days.
