Default MY99 Classic WRX For Sale – Model Code GC8F48D

SOLD

It was imported from new by David Hendry Cars and had a full UK conversion incl CAT 1 Alarm, underseal, built in rear fog light, etc. We (it is a company car with me owning over 40% share of it so no cost spared as all expenses by company) have owned it from 1 year old at 11,000 miles. No track days, racing or rallying.

It has a full service history by either Subaru main dealers, Ex Subaru dealers or Powerstation (whilst doing tracking or suspension work). It has had the famous bump steer mod by Powerstation and recently had full tracking carried out by them when I had new KYB AGX adjustable gas shocks all round.

It has the the usual JDM spec which is significantly better than UK - 276BHP engine, aluminium bonnet, boot and suspension components plus climate control, folding mirrors, rear wash wipe, electric aerial, etc. Also has an electric sunroof and an inbuilt Sony Bluetooth phone kit which should work with most Bluetooth phones. Check out the SIDC FAQ for more details Subaru Impreza FAQ

The engine was fully rebuilt by API at 80,000 with addition of new clutch and disks. Recent major 30k service. It has had a new windscreen this year so nice clear vision. Set of Goodyear F1s with plenty of tread – reckoned to be the best all round tyre. Both API & Powerstation are well respected on Scoobynet.

Well looked after, cleaned regularly and in excellent condition with just a few tiny “car park dents” which are hardly noticeable and a few minor stone chips. Otherwise, paintwork and body in excellent condition.

Apart from the engine problem, which was caused by a specific reason rather than general wear and tear, the car has been exceptionally reliable and have no reason to think this will change in the foreseeable future and am only selling having bought an 06 STi. I have to say I still prefer my old car as it is a so much more balanced package.

The only bad news, apart from me losing a brilliant car, is that mileage is a tad high at 148k of mainly motorways as my job entails a lot of long distance travelling but this gives someone the ability to pick up a really good car for virtual peanuts.

If it is sold at the right price, I would be willing to offer a limited personal warranty to show good faith as I am not aware of anything being wrong with it.

It currently has a Sony MP3 head unit with wired and ir remote and a 10 CD changer under the front seat which is not part of the deal. If not required, I will replace it with a lesser unit and remove the changer.

For those of you who are concerned about insurance, I can virtually guarantee it will be cheaper than an equivalent UK car modified to this level of performance which is in the order of the P1 league.

Sold - probably too cheaply! Still, better than the £500 trade in I was offered.

I was concerned the mileage would put too many people off and they took it with only a couple of days of MOT left so saves me getting that done even though I was convinced it would sail through as usual.

Strange mixture of emotions:

Sad because I had had it for so long (7 years and 140k miles) and it had provided me with many good driving times with only one bad (more concerned really) when the big end went which is not bad in 140k miles.

Relieved because it means I do not have a spare car sitting on my drive generally getting in the way.

I am convinced the purchaser has got one hell of a good deal - just hope it gives him as good a time as I had.
