Cool Classic uk MY 2000 rebuilt/modified API

At last a few hours of daylight to get some pics of the car

For sale a Subaru Impreza 2000 UK spec saloon in Dark Mica Blue, facelifted MY2000 spec.
I purchased this last year to see me through winter. I purposely purchased it with a blown engine as I wanted to ensure that the car I was getting would be sound and solid; and I didn't want to pay 5k for a car and have the engine go on me. The car was fully rebuilt by what are known to be the best Subaru engine rebuilders in the business, API Subaru specialists API Engines

The work was undertaken 5 months ago. Whilst the car was in, some additional work was undertaken and the condition of the gearbox and clutch was appraised (both in very good working order).

The invoices from API amount to over five thousand pounds

There is an extensive service history with the car including a pile of invoices with 2 cambelt changes, the last of which was when the engine was rebuilt. Also the front discs and pads were replaced only a few months ago. I have just got the front bumper, splitter and bonnet resprayed to to stone chipping.

Service schedule:

14/4/2000 1104 miles Subaru dealer

8/8/2000 7495 Subaru dealer

23/1/2001 15584 Subaru dealer

4/8/2001 22934 Subaru dealer

Unreadable. Subaru dealer

15/4/2002 35523 Subaru dealer

13/11/2002 43562 Subaru dealer CAM BELT

27/03/2003 51535 specialist

16/11/2004 59868 Subaru 4 you

7/6/2005 67912 Subaru 4 you

14/11/05 74871 Subaru 4 you

12/5/2006 83320 Subaru 4 you

26/10/2006 90027 API CAM BELT.

List of modifications:

320 bhp engine remap

VF35 turbo

ported headers

all cats removed with a full stainless system

Walbro fuel pump

lightened fly

new Maf sensor

I don't often modify cars, but I was won over by David at API. He assured me that the modifications are well within the limits of the car. It is quite a popular modification by all accounts and he was happy to offer a warranty of 6 months so assured he was of the outcome (the balance of warranty remains). There is a noticeable difference in power compared to a standard UK car, in fact it will be as quick, if not quicker, than an stitypeR. There tax 'til November and ticket 'til May. Aircon also along with a multidisc cd changer.

There are a couple of things worth mentioning. There are several parking door dings on the panels on each side of the car. I'd imagine they could be got out by Dent-Master and the like for a small fee. The front 2 tyres will need replacing before the next MOT, they are legal right now, the back tyres should be fine for a good while yet. There's a little scraping on the rim of a couple of wheels (parking scuffs). Also, I think a heatshield has a retaining nut missing or have a slight crack. At 1500 revs in 4th or 5th you get a small vibrating metal sound. A very common fault on Imprezas, I was going to get it fixed at the next service, but it's not due one yet. This is NOT mechanical, simply a barely noticeable virating sound.

So, all in the car is mechanically sound. There should be no fear of a 3k engine build for this car for a very long time. Yes 3k! That's how much a rebuilt engine costs from a proven and respected garage. No doubt Uncle John around the corner could do it cheaper, but in my experience it's best to get a top guaranteed job done the first time.

This is my 5th Impreza (previously 93 wrx- sti5typeR-P1-22bUK) and I have been an Impreza owner for 8 years and know how to treat them. The car was run in properly for 1500 miles whereupon there was yet another oil change and the mods were carried out. Warmed up and warmed down properly too, and ALWAYS run on Optimax.

I can be contacted on 07958 387735. I'm not interested in any P/X whatsoever. This car is not to be confused with a boy-racer thrashed heap with garish mods. Currently on Ebay and Pistonheads.

Price 6795.

Sadly, after nearly a week of waiting for the 'buyer' to pay the balance on the car it seems that the car is again up for sale again.

Can the guys who called me during the week get back in contact again. The car is going to be relisted on Ebay again without sold appearing on the ad.

Please only cash buyers or people with finances in place.

NO WALTER MITTEY'S OR TIMEWASTERS, this mess has already cost me a week. Because of a potential loss on the deposit I've already put down on the car I'm replacing with I have more scope in reducing the price.

Anyone offering £50 and a handshake look elsewhere.

Posting up on Ebay on the 11th when my photobucket account renews (too many views).

Will have a buy it now price of 6495 which is what it sold for last time. With the arrival of the new car I may have some bit of movement on this.

Seems there's a lack of cash around. Been offered £6100 from a cash buyer and am waiting for 3 other guys selling their cars on before doing a deal on mine. Can anyone with cash beat £6100 for a well sorted car? It's only £1000-£1500 more than a high mile car the same age; with all the work recently, must be a bargain for someone!

Revised, best non timewasting offer £6100.

Really has to go as the replacement is imminent.

So, best offer WITH CASH IN HAND over £6100 and it's yours. Must be the best value car on this bloody site!

Ello tc. There's a few dreamers kicking around it seems. I'd have thought you'd have sold yours too by now. Only a few weeks to go now before the baby is here, could have done without this hassle lol

Come on people this is a good buy. I've got a very similar upgrade on my MY99 and it makes for a very quick car: certainly Porsche 911 quick to 100mph.

On top of that you've got a car with a engine rebuilt by experts. 6K is a bit of a give away quite frankly!!
