MY00 Classic - 330bhp Many Mods - Fast Road Setup
Now Sold
It started out as a silver Year 2000 saloon (last of the classic shape) Euro import, with Air Conditioning.

Engine:

Chassis/Drivetrain:
Brakes:
Inside:

Outside:
Intended to look standard, certainly you can tell its lowered and the 17” wheels maybe give it away

Its been serviced fanatically by its first owner and then by myself, Roger Clarke Motorsport, and Subaru Specialists, oil changes every 3000-5000 miles Mobil1 15w50 or Motul Comp 300v.
If I was keeping it jobs that I would do:
Removable tow bar is no longer removable, never bothered me, but guess would be nice to be able to remove it.
Front plastic very lower lip of bumper, paint is coming off
Car "thinks" a door is open - red light on dash, guess its a door switch/some wiring
Insurance is due again (£525 for me and wife), its a 4th car and just is not getting used, I have had a lot of fun but time to move on, its a fantastic car.
£8,000 or offers

Very nice looking combination and to be honest interested in the number plate position as I've just installed a FMIC and cannot get a good 'position' for the front plate.
I think you have made my mind up!
so thankyou and a free bttt!

I tried going back to a standard plate, but there was certainly a difference in engine temps, so went back to the stick on plate (fancyplates can make you one). Never had a problem with stick on plate, never metioned at MOT etc.
Thanks rod.
That is a nice balanced spec of car.
Do you find the brakes a big improvement over the stock 4 pots?
Hope this is not messing up your thread!
What slicks are they?
Graham.
(I have a hill climb Sti v3 on 16's)

I cannot take credit for the choice of upgrades, previous owner had a more understanding wife
So I don't know what the standard brakes are like, can only say the AP kit with Pagid pads has never let me down, I do also have ducting from the lower front bumper to get cool air to the centre of the discs, and only use Castrol SRF brake fluid. Its a no hassle setup, just works, and keeps working.
Slicks were 2nd hand Michelin on 16" wheels, past their best now, was fun to try them on track, and a much cheaper option than using expensive road tyres. I believe most track day companies now would like to see a cage in saloons that run slicks. For some reason insurance companies hike your insurance if you have a cage, so I stopped using them a couple of years ago.
Hill climb eh? Have you any thoughts on Water Injection, that was my next project as my SPA digital gauges have an output for it.
Oh and, rude not to have an anti-lag kit if you are hill climbing

Anti lagg is a real dodgy area due to noise!
All saloons on the hills now have to have a roll cage if using slicks, but my Ins Co were happy! (Footman James)
As to water injection, that is good if the water does not run dry....but not needed yet on my tweeked Sti (407 bhp x 380 lbft)
Thanks for the info, and sorry to slightly interrupt your For Sale.

Gave it a quick wash today after insurance renewal (£492 for both of us, all mods declared, limited to 10,000 miles) came through letterbox, love it, but wife thinks its unreasonable to have 4 cars and a bike.
Open to serious offers - any questions/additional photos, just ask.
