Ok people, price reduction on the above, £8,000. This is a UK car. A growing family means I need to sell my car as unfortunately priorities have changed. I'm in the Wiltshire area.

Some feedback from members would be welcome... is it not modified enough? If so can anyone suggest anywhere else to advertise?

Thanks in advance

I'm also trying to sell my Terzo - it has been in Autotrader twice and Top Marques and hasn't sold I just don't know what to do next

No one seems to want Terzos

When I was looking for a Scooby (Oct 2002) I looked at all models within my budget, Insurance being the main thing, when I compared the insurance of a normal UK 98 Turbo against the likes of Terzo/Catalunya/McRea, it was a lot more (over £700) to insure for very little benefit over a standard model. I guess to some people thier want a Special Edition, but for me I really couldnt see the point, I can understand the P1's and 22B's etc as there is a obvious difference i.e. 2 door and in the 22B case one fat son of bitch

I was 22 when I did my quote so maybe older people may not get punished for the special editions.

Just my 5p's worth

Don't think it's Terzos, i reckon it's cars generally. Imprezas being one of the worst.

Seems that since the market was flooded by imports, the UK cars have gone down the pan both in value and desirability.

I also have a Terzo (No 290) but have no plans to sell it. Hopefully things will have changed for the better when i do finally decide to upgrade.

Question Terzo selling- you wanted feedback?

Well, you did ask for feedback......so here goes..

Two scenarios...

a) ( this will make you feel better) - i saw a 98 R Terzo, at Adams garage in Aylesbury for £13,995!!!!!!!!!!!! dont know the mileage but for that price it would have to be minus!

b) Davegtt bought a mint examplefrom bedford for 7.5k with about 49k on it and two owners, this was on here about 3-7 weeks ago?

So you have the two extremes but at the end of the day there are people who are buyers out there( like me) but they want the best price!!, actually they want an awsome price and the main reason for them wanting this is the car they just sold ( what ever it may be) just lost them a load of money too! I wont go into my experiences but they involve loosing LOTS of money on anything from TVR to FORD.
Join the club.

Also i know its been mentioned previsouly but a Terzo also attracts bigger insurance premiums.

Let me put in in perspective, i will probbaly look to buy a WRX STI 4or 5,(blue) prefably V-ltd with about 50-60 k on it and some brake/suspension/exhaust mods pushing about 300hp for about 8-8.5k
Or
My99/00 with some similar mods in Green for <7k

I'm sure that'll get a lot of people pretty mad but thats how it is.

( ps- i have also owned a scooby in the past and lost silly money)

I'm sure i haven't helped overall but lets face facts. Every buyer is laso a seller sooner or later so were all in the same camp.

All IMHO of course and good luck with selling, i'm sure yours is well worth the 8k your looking for.

Thanks for the feedback people. I think I'll stick it out and see what transpires.

I would have thought that a UK car would be less to insure than a modified import. My theory is to buy my UK car would be advantageous to anyone who wants to keep their insurance premiums down. Should insurance not be an issue and they want to modify it then they're starting with a blank canvas.

Clint,

I know what you mean about not being able to sell ya car. I have been trying to sell my car for about 5 wks. I had a lot of interest in the first week, but the law of the old sod kicked in., the headgasket went. I put it back up for sale about 3 wks ago...not a dicky bird. If people are worried about the engine going kaputt, they have now probs coz I just forked out £2000 to get it fixed.........I have now idea where the scooby buyers are !!!

The Scoobynet buyers often want you to give it away..

I sold my MY01 WRX bugeye for just over 11k in February, it was only just over 2 years old and has 17k miles on the clock. No interest at all on here.

Would I now pay 7-8k for a much older car? (now two models old don't forget - that matters to lots of buyers).

In around March 2003 I sold my MY96 for £5,300 with less than 60k on the clock, UK car, full service history.. and THAT was a struggle to sell on here too!

That said, if it's the right car at the right price and you DO manage to find the right buyer, this is the place to sell your Scoob - at least (or so the theory goes) the people on here will have SOME idea of what they are buying

Anyway, good luck you two!

[QUOTE=-=Buzz=-]The Scoobynet buyers often want you to give it away..

Greetings!
I agree about advertising on here. The majority of viewers will already have Scoobies, possibly in the same position. There are too many scoobies currently for sale, it appears insurance premiums are rocketing with more and more cases of theft and vandalism. This has also affected Evos. By chance I sold mine to the chap whose car I was buying, having decided to steer clear of highly-nickable cars I went for a Honda Prelude (Type S).

I wish you luck selling your car - mine was advertised on here, on Autotrader and on eBay, the latter attracted the most attention. Most of the replies off Scoobynet were from buyers who wanted to p/x their scooby.

Scott

Air conditioning (in my opinion, highly recommended), colour, cosmetics and only 333 made.

Our Terzo is up For Sale...............tentatively I might add!

If we get the right buyer willing to pay the price it will go, if not it stays on the front and is little used.

We have found most people don't know what a Terzo is and the fact its a Limited Edition doesn't seem to count except to those who know what they are looking for.

Hope you get a fair price for it. Just bear in mind there arn't that many of the 333 left! (334 - no number 13)

I see the Terzo web site has dropped off the earth too which doesn't help when trying to point people in the info direction!
