Default PAR 5 speed sycnhro gearbox - back up for sale

Built up for me by barratts motorsport in Canterbury, labour costing me over £800 plus vat

the labour included spark eroding the fifth gear shaft to allow a second woodruff key to be installed. This allows fifth gear to handle far more torque.

Includes a quaife ATB front diff which retails for 600 plus vat

the set itself retails for over 1750 plus vat

Also included is my fully working DCCD which sell all day long for £500 on their own.

The box has only ever been run with Redline lo weight hi shock oil and works and sounds beautiful.

It has had about 2000 miles of use and has fresh oil in as we speak (about 100 miles old iirc).

First and second gears are straight cut, third and fourth are semi straight, and fifth is a standard UK 0.738.

The box was happily running over 500lbft in my possession.

The ratios are very similar to standard UK ratios across the board with a 3.9 final drive.

The centre diff uses 1:1 drop gears, so when connected to a rear diff, that will need to be a 3.9 crown wheel and pinion also.

Price is £2200.

Can sell without the centre diff for £1750

pm with any questions

I had loads of interest all but one of whom I had to turn away.

I hope they are still lurking.

If anyone wants to part ex a standard type r gearbox with dccd, then I will consider that.

it was UK ratios graham - great to meet you the other day btw and thanks for the hospitality.

Would post ratios but the box is provisionally gone now anyway.

thanks john, a pleasure to speak to you!

Graham, I hope the sale to John doesn't affect your relative finishing positions, if it does, don't blame me!

If that Welsh Hillclimber has the box I'll never forgive you Adam!
If he has that ecu...the Apexi seems good to me, and the wife will never sanction anymore spend on this bloody car!
Unless the box breaks on sunday...

This all has to stop

Only joking Adam
I am sure John will get to grips with that box, and I'm happy with the Apexi.

That spec for the box would do me just right...

John, for sub 400bhp I reckon that a dog box is tiresome overkill, but then I would say that.

Jeff always went on about a Subaru in Scotland as being exactly what he wanted, but i don't know what yet.
Will see and race against them over Easter.
