350bhp+ turbo for sale..
MD304 (18G
)Hybrid Turbo
(from Lateral Performance originally).

inc full TD service, clean and rebalance.
£750 delivered next day.
(btw the service and rebalance is £195+Vat!)
On a 2L (with supporting mods) this should give you 1 bar of boost by around 2.7k rpm and 1.25 from around 3/3.1k rpm, the delivery is much snappier on the road that you might think.
No play in core, all vanes 100%!
Cost over £1400 new from LP.
I did just under 14000 miles with it.
P20spd and slooby also both had excellent success with this type of turbo.
Low 12's on the 1/4 mile are within reach.
On a 2.5 the power delivery would be ferocious!
No oil/water pipework supplied

£750 delivered next day is inc' full TD service, clean and rebalance.
(btw the service and rebalance is worth £195+Vat!)
Or £550 without the rebalance or servicing.. (offered it with a service etc, at the higher price, for peace of mind for the buyer)

Right chrome, been looking at this for a while.
Would it fit/work with my 02 WRX, all i have at the mo is a full de-cat and will have some new headers soon.
Is it going to need to be re-mapped straight away, or will it run fine till such time it gets done anyway.
If the answers to the above are positive ones what power could i hope for with just that done.
Thanks mate

Hiya..
Yeah it would fit your 02'
with regards to power-
Is your car UK?
or import?
which headers you buying?
running standard fuelling?
If you were to fit this uprated turbo, it would need an ECU remap in my opinion.
You could try to run it at lower boost levels without a remap- but you will be risking your engine as I would have thought you would need fuelling/timing adjustments etc as this turbo flows far better than the stock td04! The same with any other uprated turbo swap as far as I know.
I think on a bugeye, with a decent exhaust system, decent headers and a map; using this turbo could see the car well over 300bhp/300lbft.
(if it was a UK car)
If it is an import I would guestimate at a fair bit more.
I ran a 12.79 1/4 with the MD304.. on a UK car, but mine is a classic (weighs less than a bugeye obviously).
here is a graph from TimW (hope you don't mind me using that Tim) on here, who ran an MD304 on his 2L UK car..
http://images.fotopic.net/?iid=yybk5...ze=1&nostamp=1
the upper pair of curves is using the 304, the lower ones are using the TD04
Nice curves huh?
Big difference or what!
Hope that helps.

easy 340 at a guess.
the power 'cieling' is dictated by the mechanical spec of the turbo. Compressor/ exhaust hosuings.. etc.. I dont understand compressor maps myself- but you try and ask John Banks or AndyF for a thorough explanation.
You will reach a point where it cant make any further power due to the airflow thru the turbo being maxed out basically..
thing is; if you can acheive 1bar of boost by 3400rpm then the car will 'feel' far quicker on the road than if its making peak power much higher up @ 6000rpm
The ceiling for the turbo itself is still 350 ish give or take a few horses IIRC.
No doubt someone more technically capable will come along now and disprove this
