Default PACE Front Mount Intercooler Kit

PACE FMIC inc. performance rad. and hard pipe kit / hoses.

BRAND NEW (nearly) cost £1200 1 month, 1000miles ago

sell for £800ono

The complete kit consists of all parts shown - including a high performance PACE alloy radiator and high flow electric fans. fits 94 - 99 spec.

KIT WILL FIT BOTH AIRCON & NON-AIRCON CARS

The standard intercooler on all Impreza models is mounted on top of the engine and has an air feed through the top of the bonnet.

Because of space restrictions in the engine bay, the intercooler is quite small. The surface area on some models is as small as 120mm core tube length x 400mm width.

To compound the problem, the intercooler is blasted with hot air from the engine , so it is not surprising that heat spikes of up to 90°C can be experienced with the standard unit.

This can cause problems with engine detonation in the engine cylinders.

To solve this problem, the PACE intercooler is mounted in front of the water radiator - the coolest place on the car.

The PACE cooler has a surface area measuring 470mm core tube length x 350mm wide - some 242% larger than the standard unit. Air intake temperatures stabilize at around 40°C. (This is the temperature where many engine tuners like to map their engines)

The intake and exit pipes for the intercooler are routed directly over the top of our special high efficiency alloy radiator, giving the shortest possible route, and therefore alleviating the 'lag' problem which is associated with some other front-mount kits.

The complete kit consists of all parts shown - including a high performance PACE alloy radiator and high flow electric fans.

The kit is relatively easy to fit as the bumper does NOT need to be removed or modified
